2025 Xpeng Motors G7

By Team Dailyrevs

  • Priced from ¥235,800 (~$32,800) with over 10,000 pre-orders in 46 minutes.

  • Up to 702 km CLTC range, fast charging, and new SEPA 2.0 architecture.

  • First Xpeng model with Turing AI chips and Huawei-developed AR-HUD.

Subtle Size, Strong Presence

You might not clock the 2025 Xpeng Motors G7 as the brand’s biggest SUV at first glance. But it is. At 4,892 mm long and 1,925 mm wide, it overtakes the G9, yet still wears its bulk lightly. Frameless doors and a gentle fastback roofline help it avoid that hulking crossover look. It's large, sure—but it doesn’t need to shout about it.

Flush handles, wide stance, high belt-line. It has presence, especially from the front, where the split-light design mimics the sleeker P7+. Add in up to 20-inch wheels tucked neatly into the arches, and it lands somewhere between minimalist premium and mainstream confidence. Think Zeekr 001 meets Model Y—without the Tesla ego.

2025 Xpeng Motors G7

Solid Powertrain, Civilized Range

The G7 rides on Xpeng’s SEPA 2.0 platform, with power delivered via a single rear-mounted electric motor rated at 218 kW (292 hp). Battery options include two LFP packs—68.5 kWh and 80.8 kWh—good for 602 to 702 km range on the CLTC cycle.

Despite tipping the scales at 2,085–2,160 kg, the G7 doesn’t feel like a compromise. Charging tech helps: fast 5C rates mean you can get from 30% to 80% quickly, even if Xpeng hasn’t published exact charge times yet. This is a practical, usable EV—not a numbers chaser.

Interior Tech That Actually Matters

Inside, Xpeng has gone all-in on purposeful innovation. This is the first model to debut its in-house Turing AI chips—three of them in the Ultra trim—delivering a combined 2,250 TOPS. The Max trim swaps in front-facing NVIDIA Orin-X chips for visual-based L3 autonomous driving. And yes, that 87″ AR-HUD developed with Huawei projects directly onto the windshield. It’s a lot, but none of it feels like tech for tech’s sake.

Smarter Pricing in a Crowded Field

Starting at ¥235,800 (~$32,800 USD), the G7 is landing right where it needs to. Cheaper than a comparably specced Model Y, yet just upscale enough to draw in buyers eyeing Zeekr, Nio, and even some of the pricier BYD models. It’s aimed at volume without looking budget.

Over 10,000 pre-orders were logged in the first 46 minutes, so clearly something’s working. Delivery is expected in the second half of 2025, and while this isn’t the loudest EV debut of the year, it might be one of the smartest.
