Three new paint colors—Bright Moss Green, Monterey Blue Pearl, and Monument Gray—have been added to the lineup. Wheel options include 17-inch alloys for the S model, 18-inch wheels for the SE, and 19-inch wheels for the SEL trim. The SE Black trim, introduced in 2024, continues to offer a distinctive black roof and trim.

Interior Enhancements

Inside, the 2025 Volkswagen Taos boasts a redesigned dashboard, upgraded materials, and a standard 8-inch floating infotainment display. SE models and above offer touch controls for the Climatronic® HVAC system. Enhanced acoustic dampening minimizes cabin noise for a quieter ride. The upholstery options range from two-tone cloth in the S model to CloudTex and cloth in SE trims, and leather seating in the SEL trim, available in either a two-tone or dark blue option.

Powertrain Improvements

Under the hood, the 2025 Taos features an updated 1.5-liter turbocharged TSI® engine. Modifications to the piston rings, fuel injectors, turbo housing, and intercooler, alongside a new gasoline particulate filter, have increased the engine’s output from 158 horsepower to 174 horsepower. The 4Motion all-wheel-drive models now come with an eight-speed automatic transmission, replacing the previous seven-speed DSG® dual-clutch option.

Driver Assistance and Safety Features

All 2025 Taos models come equipped with Volkswagen’s IQ.DRIVE® suite of driver assistance technologies. Key features include Travel Assist for semi-automated driving, Front Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking and Pedestrian Monitoring, Active Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Traffic Alert, and Lane Assist. The adaptive cruise control (ACC) with Stop and Go, and Emergency Assist are also included. Additionally, front and rear Park Distance Control provides enhanced guidance during parking maneuvers.

Availability
