Volkswagen is launching the 2025 ID.3 Pro S with comprehensive upgrades. This electric vehicle now features the latest software and infotainment system, an improved operating concept, and an augmented reality head-up display. Enhancements also include a new Wellness App and an optional premium Harman Kardon sound system. The ID.3 Pro S’s drivetrain is improved, boosting output to 170 kW. New Infotainment System and ChatGPT

The ID.3 Pro S cockpit now boasts a redesigned infotainment system with a 12.9-inch touchscreen and a new, intuitive menu structure. Enhancements to the multifunction steering wheel simplify operation. The driving mode selector has been moved to a separate steering column switch, as seen in the ID.7. Illuminated and ergonomically designed touch sliders control interior temperatures and volume. The new IDA voice assistant, powered by natural language processing, can control vehicle functions and answer questions by accessing online databases such as Wikipedia. Integration of AI through ChatGPT is another new feature.

Stronger and More Efficient Motor

The 2025 ID.3 Pro S is equipped with an enhanced electric motor, delivering more power and improved efficiency. In Germany, the ID.3 Pro S now offers 170 kW as standard, while other markets can opt to increase the base output from 150 kW to 170 kW via a function-on-demand feature. This power-on-demand option is part of Volkswagen’s digital business model development. The 0 to 100 km/h acceleration improves to 7.1 seconds, and the combined WLTP range reaches up to 559 kilometers.

Faster Charging on the Go

The ID.3 Pro S features an innovative charging and thermal management function that pre-conditions the battery before DC charging stops. This ensures the battery is charged as quickly as possible, even on long trips. The battery is heated to the optimal temperature for charging at up to 175 kW, reducing charging time, especially in winter. When route guidance is active, pre-conditioning starts automatically en route to the next quick-charging station. Without route guidance, this function can be manually activated through the infotainment system’s charging menu.

Assistants On Board as Standard

The ID.3 Pro S includes a range of modern assist systems as standard. These systems comprise Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Autonomous Emergency Braking (Front Assist) with pedestrian and cyclist monitoring, Lane Keeping System (Lane Assist), oncoming vehicle braking when turning, and Dynamic Road Sign Display. The Car2X traffic hazard alert function provides early warnings for situations like roadworks, accidents, traffic queues, or approaching emergency vehicles.

New and Enhanced Systems

Innovative equipment options include enhanced Travel Assist with swarm data utilization, enabling assisted longitudinal and lateral guidance at any speed, as well as assisted lane changing on motorways. Park Assist Plus, with memory function for automatic execution of saved parking maneuvers, is also available. The Park Assist Plus remote function allows for remote parking via smartphone app. The exit warning system, an extension of the Side Assist lane change system, prevents doors from opening if a vehicle is approaching from behind, issuing acoustic and visual warnings.

Innovative Wellness App

The Wellness App enhances well-being during drives or breaks by using features like background lighting, sound, and air conditioning. The app offers modes such as Fresh Up, Calm Down, and Power Break, which can be customized to personal preferences, including integrating Spotify playlists.

New Sound System

The ID.3 Pro S offers an optional 480-watt sound system from Harman Kardon. The 12-channel system features four preconfigured sound settings: Pure (neutral studio sound), Relax (easy listening), Speech (focus on spoken words), and Vibrant (dynamic live sound). An equalizer allows for personal sound adjustments.
