Volkswagen has introduced a new, sportier variant of the ID.3 series, the ID.3 GTX Performance. Building on the ID.3 GTX’s 210 kW (285 PS), the ID.3 GTX Performance boasts 240 kW (326 PS), making it the most powerful electric drive motor from Volkswagen to date. Both GTX versions efficiently convert power into rear axle traction, thanks to a design that places the new 79 kWh battery centrally in the vehicle's floor, ensuring a low center of gravity and balanced axle load distribution for enhanced driving dynamics and handling.

Enhanced Performance

The ID.3 GTX Performance is equipped with an upgraded Volkswagen Performance drive system, increasing output from 210 kW to 240 kW. It produces a maximum torque of 545 Nm, surpassing the drive power of Volkswagen’s most powerful V6 turbocharged engines. The ID.3 GTX Performance accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.7 seconds and is electronically limited to a top speed of 200 km/h, a first for the ID. family.

Battery and Charging

The vehicle features a 79 kWh lithium-ion battery, capable of absorbing up to 185 kW of power at DC quick-charging stations. Thanks to innovative charging and thermal management, including battery pre-conditioning, the battery can charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 26 minutes. The WLTP range of the ID.3 GTX Performance is up to 601 km.

Sporty Suspension and Handling

The GTX-specific running gear includes stronger stabilizers and is finely tuned to the drive system’s high performance. It features a MacPherson front axle and a five-link rear axle with sophisticated guidance. The standard progressive steering system has been adapted for the ID.3 GTX, and the ID.3 GTX Performance can be equipped with the Sport DCC adaptive chassis control. This system utilizes more sensor signals and refined algorithms to control the shock absorbers, ensuring precise handling and stability even in sporty driving conditions.

Distinctive GTX Design

The ID.3 GTX and ID.3 GTX Performance feature unique design elements that set them apart from other models in the lineup. The GTX-specific front bumper includes a distinctive black air intake in a diamond-style design and customized signature lighting. Optional 20-inch Skagen GTX wheel rims are available in black. The interior also features numerous GTX-specific details.

Advanced Technology and Features

The ID.3 GTX Performance includes the latest generation of software and infotainment, featuring a 12.9-inch display and the IDA voice assistant with ChatGPT. Additional options include an augmented reality head-up display, a redesigned Wellness app, and a premium sound system from Harman Kardon.

Standard Safety and Assist Systems

The ID.3 GTX comes equipped with a comprehensive range of state-of-the-art assist systems to enhance comfort and safety. These include cruise control (upgradeable to Adaptive Cruise Control ACC), Autonomous Emergency Braking (Front Assist) with pedestrian and cyclist monitoring, Lane Assist, oncoming vehicle braking when turning, and Dynamic Road Sign Display. The Car2X traffic hazard alert function is also standard.

Optional Connected Systems

Optional features such as Connected Travel Assist with online data utilization enable assisted longitudinal and lateral guidance across all speeds and assisted lane changing on motorways. This system can also provide lane guidance without detected lane markings if online data is available.
