About the Car

2025 RML Group P39 Project

RML Group, a prominent UK-based high-performance engineering specialist, has revealed the first details of its bespoke 2025 RML P39 Project. This unique project blends the advanced design elements of a Le Mans Hypercar with the everyday practicality of a road car, resulting in an exclusive hypercar—the P39 40th Special Edition (40SE)—that reflects RML's engineering prowess and experience in motorsport.

  • The 2025 RML P39 Project is a hypercar developed by RML Group, combining Le Mans Hypercar design with everyday road usability.
  • The car is based on the Porsche 992.1 Turbo S, with significant upgrades that improve performance, handling, and ride quality.
  • The P39 40th Special Edition (40SE) features an expanded front and rear track, a longer wheelbase, and carbon fibre bodywork inspired by Le Mans Hypercars.
  • The active aerodynamics system includes a Drag Reduction System (DRS) and remote chassis lowering, enhancing downforce to 662kg at 150mph.
  • Powered by a twin-turbo six-cylinder engine, the P39 40SE delivers 900bhp and 1,000Nm of torque, achieving a projected Nordschleife lap time of 6 minutes 45 seconds.
  • The car offers dual driving modes: Track Mode for high-speed performance and Tour Mode for a more comfortable daily driving experience.
  • The interior features custom sports seats, a half roll cage, four-point safety harnesses, and special embroidery commemorating RML’s 40 years in engineering.
  • Exterior customization includes a no-cost Ruby Red paint option and bespoke forged alloy wheels, with 20-inch wheels in the front and 21-inch wheels in the rear.
  • Production is limited to just 10 units, all built at RML’s engineering center near Silverstone, with a price starting at £495,000 excluding taxes and the donor car.
  • RML offers sourcing of the donor car if needed, providing a fully customized vehicle for each buyer.

Performance Enhancements Based on the Porsche 992.1 Turbo S

The RML P39 40SE is built on the Porsche 992.1 Turbo S platform, with significant upgrades to enhance its overall performance, ride quality, and handling. This hypercar delivers track performance superior to that of a Porsche 992 GT3 RS, while maintaining a level of comfort suitable for daily driving.

Increased Track Capabilities and Aerodynamics

To elevate its handling capabilities, the P39 40SE has a wider track at both the front and rear, with an extended wheelbase. The car's bodywork, constructed from carbon fibre, is designed to align with the Le Mans Hypercar aesthetic and functional requirements. The front and rear active aerodynamics include a driver-activated Drag Reduction System (DRS), which reduces aerodynamic drag, boosting speed on straight roads. Additionally, the chassis can be remotely lowered to enhance downforce, generating up to 662kg at 150mph—over four times the downforce of a standard Porsche 992.1 Turbo S.

Powertrain Upgrades and Anticipated Lap Times

Under the hood, the P39 40SE is powered by a twin-turbo six-cylinder engine, producing 900bhp at 7,300rpm and 1,000Nm of torque. These power figures are achieved through the addition of a new ECU, upgraded turbos, intercoolers, manifolds, and a tuned Inconel sports exhaust. With these enhancements, the P39 40SE is expected to lap the Nordschleife in 6 minutes and 45 seconds—significantly faster than both the standard 992.1 Turbo S and the GT3 RS.

Dual-Mode Functionality: Track Mode and Tour Mode

The P39 40SE features two distinct driving modes: Track Mode and Tour Mode. In Track Mode, the car’s stiffness and aerodynamics are optimized for speed, while in Tour Mode, the ride height is increased, and the damping is relaxed, making the car more comfortable for daily driving.

Interior Design and Features

Inside, the P39 40SE showcases RML’s 40 years of engineering excellence with custom sports seats, four-point safety harnesses, and special embroidery. The standard rear seats are replaced with a custom half roll cage.

Exterior Options and Customization

Buyers can opt for a Ruby Red paint finish at no additional cost, complemented by bespoke forged alloy wheels measuring 20 inches in the front and 21 inches in the rear.

Production and Availability

RML plans to produce just 10 examples of the P39 40SE, with each unit being built at their engineering center in Wellingborough, near Silverstone. The price for the complete vehicle is set at £495,000, excluding taxes and the cost of the donor car, which RML can source if needed.
