Porsche has introduced extensive updates to the 2025 Taycan, enhancing power, range, acceleration, and charging stability. All three body variants—the Taycan sports sedan, the versatile Taycan Cross Turismo with an off-road package, and the practical Taycan Sport Turismo—feature these updates, available from spring 2024. Each variant offers four powertrain options, including rear- and all-wheel-drive versions.
Higher Performance
The updated models accelerate faster than their predecessors, with the base Taycan and Taycan Turbo S reaching 100 km/h in 4.8 and 2.4 seconds, respectively. The new push-to-pass function in the Sport Chrono package provides a boost of up to 70 kW for 10 seconds. The base Taycan now delivers 60 kW more power, while the Taycan Turbo S gains an additional 140 kW with Launch Control, bringing the top model's output to 700 kW/952 PS.
Increased Range and Faster Charging
The WLTP range has improved by up to 35 percent, reaching up to 678 km, depending on the body variant and engine. The updated Taycan requires fewer charging stops and charges faster, with a capacity of up to 320 kW at 800-volt DC charging stations. The new performance battery supports high charging capacities for longer periods, reducing the time to charge from 10 to 80 percent SOC to just 18 minutes.
New Active Chassis
All updated Taycan models include adaptive air suspension as standard, with the option for Porsche Active Ride suspension on all-wheel-drive versions. This system maintains body stability during dynamic maneuvers, offering a smooth ride and balanced wheel load distribution. It can also compensate for pitching and rolling motions, enhancing passenger comfort.
Enhanced Efficiency
Performance and efficiency improvements come from several factors: a new rear-axle motor with up to 80 kW more power, a modified pulse inverter, more powerful batteries, revised thermal management, a next-generation heat pump, and an improved recuperation and all-wheel-drive strategy. The maximum recuperation capacity has increased by over 30 percent, and all variants now feature aerodynamically optimized wheels and reduced-rolling-resistance tires.
Improved Equipment
Despite weighing up to 15 kilograms less, the updated models come with more extensive standard equipment, including ambient lighting, ParkAssist with reversing camera, heated front seats, Porsche Intelligent Range Manager (PIRM), a new heat pump cooling system, wireless charging tray, and electric charging ports on both sides. Base models now also include adaptive air suspension and aluminum door sill protectors.
Refined Design
The Taycan's design has been further refined with new front and rear styling, including flatter headlights and new tail lights. The new headlights feature high-resolution HD matrix technology, displaying the brand's characteristic four-point graphics. The Porsche logo in the rear light strip has a three-dimensional, glass-look design, with an illuminated version available for the first time. The Turbo and Turbo S models are distinguished by the accent color Turbonite.
Updated Control and Display Concept
The instrument cluster, central display, and optional passenger display have an optimized user interface with additional functions. The mode switch on the steering wheel is now standard. For models with the Sport Chrono package and the Performance Battery Plus, a push-to-pass button is included. A new control lever behind the steering wheel improves driver assistance system control. Apple CarPlay is more deeply integrated, and the new In-Car Video function allows video streaming on the central and passenger displays.
