2025 Porsche Taycan 4: Extensive Updates and Improved Performance

The 2025 Porsche Taycan 4 receives a significant upgrade, offering improved power, range, acceleration, and faster charging capabilities, along with greater stability. The updated design has been refined to highlight the differences between the Turbo models. All versions now come with an expanded standard equipment list, including the latest Porsche Driver Experience featuring a redesigned display and control system. These enhancements are available across all three body variants: the Taycan sports sedan, the versatile Taycan Cross Turismo (with off-road package), and the Taycan Sport Turismo. All variants will feature four powertrain options, with both rear-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations. The revised versions are expected to reach Porsche Centres starting in the spring of 2024.

Performance Upgrades and Enhanced Range

The 2025 Taycan 4 accelerates faster than its predecessor, thanks to a substantial increase in system power. For example, the Taycan and Taycan Turbo S now reach 100 km/h in 4.8 and 2.4 seconds, respectively—0.6 and 0.4 seconds quicker than previous models. A notable addition is the new push-to-pass function, part of the Sport Chrono package, allowing a power boost of up to 70 kW for 10 seconds. As a result, the base Taycan now delivers 60 kW more than before, while the Taycan Turbo S offers an additional 140 kW, bringing the total system output to 700 kW/952 PS.

The WLTP range has also seen a remarkable improvement, with an increase of up to 35% compared to the previous model. The new Taycan 4 offers a range of up to 678 km, significantly reducing the need for frequent charging stops. It also benefits from faster charging capabilities, reaching up to 320 kW at 800-volt DC stations, 50 kW faster than before. With the upgraded performance battery (now 105 kWh, up from 93 kWh), charging times have been cut in half, with the Taycan reaching an 80% charge in just 18 minutes.

• Extended driving range – The updated Taycan 4 offers up to 678 km of WLTP range, an improvement of 35% over the previous model, reducing the need for frequent charging stops on long trips.

• Faster charging speeds – Charging at 800-volt DC stations now reaches up to 320 kW, 50 kW more than before. The 10-80% charging time has been reduced to just 18 minutes, even with a larger 105 kWh battery.

• Enhanced efficiency upgrades – A new rear-axle motor with up to 80 kW more power, revised thermal management, and improved recuperation capabilities contribute to better overall energy efficiency.

• Advanced suspension system – Adaptive air suspension is now standard, with the option for Porsche Active Ride suspension on all-wheel drive models, improving ride quality and road grip.

• Refined exterior design – The 2025 Taycan 4 features new front and rear styling, flatter headlights with HD matrix technology, and an illuminated Porsche logo in the rear light strip.

• Lighter structure with more features – Despite weighing up to 15 kg less, the updated Taycan 4 includes standard features like ambient lighting, a heat pump, and wireless charging for smartphones.

• Optimized driver interface – The updated Porsche Driver Experience introduces an improved user interface, enhanced steering wheel controls, and a more seamless integration of Apple CarPlay.

• New aerodynamic and efficiency-focused wheels – All models now come with aerodynamically optimized wheels and low-rolling-resistance tires, including newly developed 21-inch options.

Standard on all models, the adaptive air suspension ensures a smooth ride, while the optional Porsche Active Ride suspension for all-wheel drive versions delivers exceptional driving dynamics. These include ambient lighting, ParkAssist with reversing camera, electrically folding exterior mirrors with lighting, heated front seats, and a smartphone tray for wireless charging. The updated design features new front and rear styling, including flatter headlights and rear lights with high-resolution HD matrix technology.
