The 2.0-liter four-cylinder TwinPower Turbo gasoline engine delivers 170 kW (228 hp) and 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) of torque in both models, a notable increase from the previous generation’s 235 lb-ft. This results in impressive acceleration, with the MINI John Cooper Works 2 Door reaching 60 mph in 5.9 seconds, while the Convertible does so in 6.2 seconds. The top speeds are 155 mph (250 km/h) for the 2 Door and 152 mph (245 km/h) for the Convertible.

A sporty dual-clutch automatic transmission enhances performance with quick gear changes, controlled via paddle shifters on the steering wheel. The suspension system is tuned for agile handling, providing the brand’s signature go-kart experience. The braking system, equipped with Chili Red calipers and JCW logos, ensures precise and reliable braking performance.

Exterior Design and Aerodynamics

The design of the 2025 MINI John Cooper Works models emphasizes performance. At the front, the large octagonal grille, adorned with the John Cooper Works logo, is framed by wide air vents for improved aerodynamics and engine cooling.
