2025 M-Hero 917 Highland Lion

2025 M-Hero 917 Highland Lion
By Team Dailyrevs April 24, 2025
M-Hero 917 Highland Lion looks like it could crush a tank, and might try.
There’s a BEV with four motors and an EREV with three—neither one’s slow.
Dongfeng's clearly aiming at the luxury tough-guy club, Hummer EV and the rest.
Dongfeng Unveils the Massive 2025 M-Hero 917 Highland Lion
Alright, so Dongfeng just pulled the cover off the 2025 M-Hero 917 Highland Lion and yeah, it’s kind of a beast. This thing’s massive. You see the press shots and think—okay, if a luxury condo complex had a mean older brother, it’d be this SUV.
Two Powertrain Options: BEV and EREV
It's got two flavors. The full-electric one (BEV) is running four motors throwing down 800kW. That's over a thousand horses, which is borderline absurd unless you’re planning to climb a mountain while towing another mountain. Then there’s the EREV version, a little more “civilized” with three motors and a 1.5L turbo engine acting like the world’s most jacked backup generator. That one’s good for 600kW. Still bananas.
Brutalist Design With Hummer EV Vibes
Design-wise : Boxy. Blocky. Brutal. In a good way. The lines are sharp and deliberate—this isn’t trying to be a crossover or anything. The stance is all presence. Almost comically wide and tall, with proportions that scream “get out of my way.” Reminds me a bit of the Hummer EV, honestly, but more squared-off and even more intense in some angles.
Luxury Interior With Tech-Heavy Appeal
Inside, they’re promising luxury, but the photos are doing most of the talking for now. Seats look plush. Screens are everywhere, because of course they are. Still, hard to tell how it’ll actually feel until someone sits in one and pokes around.
Pricing Starts at $87,500 USD
Price: Starts around $87,500 USD. Which, yeah, puts it in big-league territory. But clearly, that’s the point. M-Hero isn’t trying to sneak into the party—they’re kicking the door down and parking this thing in the middle of the dance floor.
Not Just for China—Global Intentions Seem Clear
And no, it’s not just for China. Or at least, it doesn’t seem like it. Feels like Dongfeng's angling for a piece of the global pie here, especially with specs like this. And if you're into giant electric off-roaders that look like they could survive a warzone? This might’ve just jumped onto your radar.
Loud, Proud, and Definitely Not Subtle
So yeah, the Highland Lion. It’s loud, proud, and probably doesn’t fit in most garages. But that’s kinda the point.
