2025 Kimera EVO38

Universal heir. This is the expression that defines that subject who receives and gathers upon himself the entire heritage of a family, becoming the last and most contemporary representative of the dynasty.

If the lineage of the most iconic sports and racing cars built in Turin from 1978 to 1992 – which dominated the roads and racing tracks around the world – had not been interrupted and its natural lineage had evolved to the present day, today that lineage would have an heir, a final evolution of its species. With this spirit, Kimera Automobili gave life to the EVO38, a car created to celebrate and collect the cultural legacy of an era in which Italy was great in the world, and to remind everyone where some of the most important masterpieces that made the history of the automobile: in Italy, in Piedmont, in Turin.

After the success of the EVO37, the car with which the brand made its debut in the automotive panorama, Kimera presents the EVO38, the further and latest evolution of a concept of cars designed for racing and then also transferred to the roads: pure, analogue, physical and mechanical, forged by creative flair, craftsmanship, practical manual skill and irreplaceably human sensitivity.

Kimera EVO38 cannot properly be defined as a restomod car; it is rather a further extremization of this philosophy, a "few-off" (it will be made in a limited edition of 38 examples) which is born ultra-sporty and which, from its noble progenitors, acquires the strong inspiration that permeates its DNA, shaping themselves in their image and likeness, both on a stylistic and technical level.

Compared to the EVO37, the EVO38 becomes integral: unlike some of the noble progenitors mentioned above, the four-wheel drive is achieved through a modern and sophisticated system of distribution control and electro-hydraulic locking of the differentials. This system - just like the most sophisticated electronic World Rally Cars of the early 2000s - allows calibration of the differentials directly from the cockpit, offering the driver the possibility of managing the percentage of traction distribution between the front and rear axles, in addition to the possibility of managing the differential lock. This solution also allows the front differential to be completely excluded so as to effectively have a rear-wheel drive car.

Again from inside the passenger compartment, and in particular through steering wheel controls, there will be the possibility of intervening on the suspension calibration through motorized shock absorbers and with a lifting system to adapt the height from the ground of the car to conditions other than road driving: track, bumpy tracks, "white roads".

The rear chassis layout maintains the central shock absorber with double lateral spring, typical of the 1980s group B models, while at the front there will be a modern layout with push road shock absorbers.

The gearbox is still manual with 6 speeds, but with an even shorter ratio than the EVO37, confirming the connotation of the car, which finds its ideal terrain of use on guided mixed roads rather than on fast circuits. On the EVO38, Kimera is also working to propose a version of electro-actuated sequential gearbox with front clutches, a solution that will make the car a real "racing" weapon, but which can be unleashed on everyday roads.

Despite the presence of all-wheel drive, Kimera Automobili aims to maintain the same low weight as the EVO37, stopping the scales at around 1,100 kg also for the EVO38. To achieve this result, the additional mass due to the transmission also on the front axle will be compensated through the massive use of carbon fiber and titanium, which will guarantee significant lightening of the chassis, mechanics, systems and bodywork.

On the other hand, the power of the engine increases, reaching the threshold of 600 horsepower thanks to a re-engineering of numerous components: the turbocharger will be larger and will always work in combination with the volumetric compressor with further evolved and improved management; Furthermore, the electro-actuated clutch, also thanks to the aid of an electric pop-off valve, will guarantee an always ready and full delivery, creating a real anti-lag. The distribution will vary considerably with new cams, valves and springs having evolved to allow an increase in maximum rotation of the engine. The variable valve timing will guarantee, in addition to greater power, also a significant increase in terms of torque (approximately 580 Nm) available already from low revs. A further detail is represented by the possibility of equipping the turbo with direct exhaust, an extremely spectacular solution.

The style of the EVO38 becomes significantly more contemporary and guarantees a presence of great character, with more decisive and defined lines and a technical package of extraordinary excellence, which well represents the cultural continuity and know-how of which Kimera Automobili is an ambassador, further consolidating a beautiful Italian entrepreneurial fairy tale, which seems to recall adventures from other times, but which in reality our country is still able to stimulate.

In an automotive context increasingly oriented towards a paradigm shift, Kimera Automobili affirms and consecrates the true and pure passion for a way of conceiving cars as works and expressions of style and technique aimed at driving pleasure, stimulating emotions, fun and gratification.

The brand has acquired a distinctive identity in a short time and, thanks to the creation and delivery of iconic cars, continues to attract an international clientele with refined and sophisticated tastes, but at the same time very aware of the values ​​that the brand interprets and expresses through each of its unique specimens.

The EVO38 will be shown to the public for the first time at the next Geneva International Motor Show where Kimera Automobili will set up a truly one-of-a-kind stand. The new car will in fact be welcomed at the center of a scenario that will host the legendary cars that inspired it and to which the EVO38 pays homage, and which will make its debut even more special.
