About the Car
2025 DS 7 Vauban
The DS 7 VAUBAN was born as a 4.59 meter long protected special car developed starting from the DS 7 E-TENSE 4x4 300. Aramids, a group of lightweight materials particularly resistant to impacts and heat, HPPE (High Performance Polyethylene) fibres, steel Reinforced and safety glass strengthens the vehicle to ensure a VPAM 4 protection level (against projectiles). Designed to offer maximum efficiency, both in terms of safety and comfort, with an additional weight of just 164 kg the armor has a minimal impact on the car's handling.
The braking distance of the DS 7 VAUBAN is equivalent to that of the DS 7 E-TENSE 4x4 300 and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes just 0.2 seconds longer, going from 5.9 to 6.1 seconds . As in the model from which it derives, the vehicle's maneuverability is guaranteed by the active suspension system controlled by a DS ACTIVE SCAN SUSPENSION camera and by a turning radius of 10.45 m, a true reference in the premium SUV segment.
The technical solutions adopted make the DS 7 VAUBAN a unique model dedicated to the French Art of Travel. Handling like all DS 7 models, the DS 7 VAUBAN can be driven with a normal B licence, unlike the majority of similar cars, which require a heavy commercial vehicle license and a particular driving course. The price, starting from 165,000 euros, is also decidedly competitive and maintenance, classified as "intensive use" as for all DS 7 models, is carried out by certified workshops selected within the DS STORES network.
The transformation of the interiors is carried out by upholsterers, to guarantee an exemplary level of refinement. The only distinctive elements of the DS 7 VAUBAN interior are the Vauban embossing and the addition of some special controls. In addition to the extra features present, optional packages are available on request for protection (automatic fire extinguishers, closed circuit ventilation, siren or intercom, etc.), passenger comfort (additional USB sockets, reading lights, etc.) and vehicle customization (body colours, interior trim, stitching, flag holders, etc.).
The result of a new collaboration between the WELP Group and DS Automobiles, the DS 7 VAUBAN is entirely built in France, assembled in the Mulhouse factory and then transformed by WELP France in Hérimoncourt, following the acquisition of part of a former Stellantis site.
DS 7 VAUBAN takes its name from the fortifications built at the end of the 17th century. The fortifications of Vauban (twelve in ten different departments, or counties) have been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. In total, Marquis Sébastien Le Prestre de Vauban oversaw the construction of over one hundred fortifications in France and Europe, erected as parts of cities, autonomous structures or as part of defensive systems. The system introduced by Vauban was also adopted for the construction of various citadels and fortresses in Asia and Africa.
The first DS 7 VAUBAN was produced. Homologation is scheduled for June; sales will open immediately afterwards.
