2025 Chevrolet Silverado EV ZR2 Race Truck Concept

The 2025 Chevrolet Silverado EV ZR2 Race Truck Concept debuted at the Mint 400 off-road race, where it will compete in the Open Production EV class as part of Hall Racing’s lineup. Priced information has not yet been officially disclosed. This all-electric off-road race truck joins the team’s Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 and Colorado ZR2 race trucks, with Chad Hall behind the wheel.

Developed in just five months, the Silverado EV ZR2 Race Truck Concept consists of approximately 98% GM production parts. It follows the same ZR2 performance formula seen in its gas-powered counterparts, featuring a lifted front and rear suspension with specialized off-road tuning, Multimatic damper technology, locking differentials, and underbody skid plate protection for enhanced durability on rough terrain.

Performance and Off-Road Capabilities

The concept integrates Multimatic Adaptive Spool Valve dampers, which continuously adjust for optimal off-road performance. These advanced dampers support more than 13 inches of front and rear wheel travel, improving handling across unpredictable desert conditions.

Paired with 37-inch BF Goodrich KM3 Mud-Terrain tires, the race truck is powered by a tri-motor electric propulsion system, delivering 1,100 horsepower and 11,500 lb-ft of torque. This powertrain is designed to handle the extreme challenges of endurance off-road racing.

Silverado EV Trail Boss and Future Off-Road EVs

The debut of the Silverado EV ZR2 Race Truck Concept comes ahead of Chevrolet’s 2026 Silverado EV Trail Boss, the brand’s first off-road-focused electric truck for consumers. This upcoming variant will feature a factory-installed suspension lift, 18-inch wheels, 35-inch all-terrain tires, and red tow hooks. It will also introduce Terrain Mode, which enhances low-speed maneuverability on rough trails.
