Aston Martin has introduced the Valiant, an ultra-exclusive track-focused, road-legal special edition created by the in-house bespoke division, Q by Aston Martin. Limited to just 38 cars globally, the Valiant features a 745PS Twin Turbo 5.2-litre V12 engine paired with a six-speed manual transmission, emphasizing Aston Martin’s dedication to building pure driver’s cars.
Originally conceived from a personal commission by Aston Martin Aramco Formula One® Team driver Fernando Alonso, the Valiant draws inspiration from Alonso’s 23-year career in Formula 1® and his passion for high-performance driving. This limited-edition special is meticulously designed and crafted by Q by Aston Martin, offering ultimate bespoke personalization services.
The Valiant continues the lineage of Aston Martins known for their driving intensity, both on-road and on-track. It joins a lineup that includes the hypercar Valkyrie, the Vantage, the Vantage GT3 race car, and the upcoming mid-engine supercar Valhalla. While inspired by Aston Martin’s heritage, the Valiant is firmly rooted in modern performance, delivering class-leading power, driving dynamics, and advanced technology.
Fernando Alonso describes the Valiant as a more extreme, race car-inspired version of the Valour, created to deliver a thrilling drive on both track and road. Alonso worked closely with the Q by Aston Martin team on the design and technical specifications, resulting in a masterpiece that embodies his passion for driving at the limit.
Combining classic V12 performance with contemporary engineering, lightweight materials, and stunning design, the Valiant pushes the boundaries of performance. It is designed to thrive on the racetrack and deliver an exhilarating drive on the road.
According to Marco Mattiacci, Global Chief Brand and Commercial Officer of Aston Martin, the Valiant is a modern masterpiece that uses the latest F1® inspired technology, exotic materials, and obsessive weight reduction to focus on providing an intense driving experience. The Valiant blends performance, track-focused dynamics, and hypercar intensity, showcasing Aston Martin’s commitment to creating rare and extraordinary cars for true drivers.
Developed to excel on-track while remaining road-legal, the Valiant features an exotic specification designed to satisfy the purist and excite the most demanding driver. Its twin-turbocharged 5.2-litre V12 engine produces 745PS and 753Nm of torque, complemented by a six-speed manual transmission. Standard Carbon Ceramic brakes ensure immense stopping power.
Unique engineering highlights of the Valiant include a 3D-printed rear subframe, a magnesium torque tube, lightweight 21” magnesium wheels, and a motorsport-spec lithium-ion battery. These features reduce weight and enhance performance, contributing to the car’s exceptional track capabilities.
The Valiant’s Multimatic Adaptive Spool Valve (ASV) dampers represent state-of-the-art suspension technology, providing unparalleled tuning possibilities for ride and handling. The dampers offer motorsport-level control and are only found on the most dynamic and exclusive vehicles.
The Valiant’s pre-set Driving Modes – Sport, Sport+, and Track – have been recalibrated to help drivers explore the car’s full performance. The driving experience is designed to build connection, consistency, and confidence, allowing the driver to fully enjoy the Valiant’s capabilities.
Aston Martin’s Director of Vehicle Performance, Simon Newton, emphasizes the Valiant’s increased track capability while maintaining road usability. Key areas of improvement include power delivery, chassis setup, aerodynamics, and weight reduction. The driver-focused design ensures maximum satisfaction and accessibility to the car’s handling limits.
Aggressive and extreme, the Valiant’s bodywork features extensive use of lightweight carbon fibre. The design generates stability-enhancing downforce and minimizes drag. The deep front splitter, full-width carbon fibre grille, and scalloped side fenders are just a few of the aerodynamic features that enhance performance.
The Valiant’s interior is a blend of race-bred functionality and Aston Martin’s renowned design. The two-seat cockpit features exposed satin-finish carbon fibre, lightweight materials, and strategic placement of seat padding for comfort and luxury. The steering wheel, gearshift, and seats are designed to provide intuitive feel and maximum control.
Marek Reichman, Aston Martin’s Executive Vice President and Chief Creative Officer, describes the Valiant as a thoroughbred aimed at being enjoyed on the track and the road. Its dramatic, muscular form and functional details, such as aero disc wheel covers and a titanium exhaust system, express its motorsport-inspired character.
The Valiant will make its public debut at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed with dynamic demonstrations on the Hill Climb course. The first customer, Fernando Alonso, will be among those showcasing the car’s capabilities.
