About the Car

2024 Toyota C-HR GXL Australian Version

The all-new second-generation Toyota C-HR premium compact SUV has landed in Australian showrooms, bringing stylish European design and frugal hybrid performance to the small SUV segment.

The three-variant C-HR line-up sees a significant increase in luxury and performance compared with the outgoing generation, with the choice of two new-generation hybrid powertrains and the introduction of a range of new technologies for safety, comfort and convenience.

Toyota Australia Vice President Sales, Marketing and Franchise Operations Sean Hanley said the all-new C-HR range offers customers a luxurious package with signature Toyota performance and reliability.

The three-variant range opens with the highly specified GXL grade, priced from $42,990 plus on-road costs.

Adopting Toyota’s new ‘Hammer Head’ exterior design language, the GXL is distinguished on the outside by 17-inch alloy wheels, LED lights with automatic high beam, a rear spoiler and a grained pattern for the front grille, black bumpers and pillar trim.

Inside, the C-HR welcomes occupants with a cosseting and stylish cabin design that uses a range of recycled materials and no animal-derived products.

The C-HR GXL offers a supremely comfortable interior with manually adjustable sporty seats with fabric upholstery, automatic dual-zone climate control, synthetic leather-accented steering wheel with tilt and telescopic adjustment, electronic parking brake, USB-C and 12V charging ports and an electrochromatic rearview mirror.

All C-HR variants feature the latest-generation high-resolution 12.3-inch touchscreen multimedia system with wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, cloud-based satellite navigation, DAB+ digital radio and voice recognition. GXL grades use a six-speaker audio system and incorporate a 7.0-inch multi-information display (MID) into the instrument cluster.

Every C-HR grade comes with a high level of active safety technology via the Toyota Safety Sense suite which includes the pre-collision safety system, active cruise control, lane trace assist, parking support brake, road sign assist (speed signs only), safe exit assist and more, as well as a panoramic view monitor and 10 SRS airbags.

The GXL is powered by an upgraded fifth-generation 1.8-litre petrol-electric hybrid powertrain that drives through the front wheels, developing a combined 103kW while consuming an average of 4.0 litres of fuel per 100km making it more powerful and efficient than before.

Sitting above the GXL is the new C-HR Koba variant priced from $49,990 plus on-road costs.

It adds a range of premium enhancements, which on the outside, include 19-inch machined alloy wheels with a gloss black contrast finish, auto-leveling bi-LED headlamps, LED foglamps, a powered tailgate, premium gloss black exterior accents and privacy glass for the rear and rear-side windows.

Inside, the Koba gains heated sport front seats with combination suede-like and fabric upholstery, powered driver’s seat with memory, nanoe-XTM cabin ionisation, a digital rearview mirror and, multi-colour ambient interior illumination.

Additional technology for comfort and convenience includes a colour head-up display, nine-speaker JBL® premium audio system, wireless smartphone charger, rear USB-C accessory port, and a fully digital 12.3-inch instrument display.

Koba variants also gain an adaptive high-beam system which is able to selectively dim the road ahead to prevent dazzling other road users.

The new flagship variant for the C-HR range is the dynamically-enhanced GR Sport grade which offers greater performance and more sporty styling.

The GR Sport is differentiated from the outside by unique gloss black 19-inch alloy wheels, GR Sport grille design with a liquid black finish, and GR Sport badging.

Cabin enhancements to the GR Sport extend to GR Sport front seats with combination synthetic leather-accented and suede-like upholstery, GR-branded aluminium scuff plates and floor mats, and a perforated GR Sport steering wheel with heating functionality.

Far more than just a visual package, the GR Sport provides significantly greater performance with power coming from a 2.0-litre hybrid system with dual-motor E-Four all-wheel drive.

Producing a potent 146kW combined output, the GR Sport maintains a low combined fuel consumption of just 4.1L/100km while stopping power is also enhanced with larger twin-piston caliper front brakes.

The flagship GR Sport grade is available from $54,990 plus on-road costs.

All C-HR variants come with a 12-month complimentary subscription to Toyota Connected Services, providing welcome security and convenience features accessible through the myToyota Connect smartphone app.

Every new C-HR is offered with the Toyota Warranty Advantage, consisting of a five-year/unlimited kilometre term with capped-price servicing for the first five years/75,000km (whichever comes first) and each 12-month/15,000km service costing $200.

Six exterior colours are available on GXL variants, consisting of Glacier White, Frosted White pearl, Graphite and Stunning Silver metallic, and Ink and Emeraldine, available in a mica metallic finish.

Koba and GR Sport grades provide an extra element of visual flair with two-tone colourways that combine a black roof with Frosted White pearl, metallic Graphite, Stunning Silver, Feverish Red and Sunglow, or metallic mica Emeraldine.

A Two-Tone Plus finish is also available for Koba and GR Sport which adds the roof’s black finish to the rear of the vehicle, and can be optioned with a panoramic roof. Koba and GR Sport customers can also opt for the all-black Ink mica metallic finish.
