A Unique Anniversary Model
The Porsche 911 Turbo, first introduced in 1974, revolutionized sports car design with its turbocharging technology, which was originally developed for Porsche's race cars like the 917/10 and 917/30. The "2024 Porsche 911 Turbo 50 Years" is built on the current 2025 911 Turbo S platform, paying tribute to this pioneering achievement.
The exterior of the anniversary model features standard decals inspired by the Porsche 911 RSR Turbo, which debuted in 1973. For the first time on a 911, the new anniversary model showcases a unique Turbonite color, exclusive to Porsche Turbo models. This special shade is applied to various exterior elements, including the rear decklid, fuel cap, and the Porsche crest, as well as the "turbo 50" model designation. The rear wing, lower rear fascia, exterior mirror base, and air intake grilles are painted in Anthracite Grey, further enhancing the car's distinctive look. The rear decklid grille also features a badge displaying a turbocharger icon and the years "1974-2024." Additionally, the LED door lights project a turbocharger icon onto the ground when the doors are opened. The vehicle comes standard with 911 Turbo S Exclusive Design wheels finished in Turbonite.
Interior Inspired by 1970s Design
The interior of the 911 Turbo 50 Years edition pays tribute to historic Turbo models with design elements reminiscent of the 1970s. The seat centers and inner door panels are upholstered in "MacKenzie" tartan, a nod to the early Porsche 911 Turbo models. Turbonite is also used for contrasting elements, including seat belts, contrast stitching, and trim pieces in black leather, as well as the Porsche crest on the steering wheel. The door sill guards, made of brushed aluminum, are illuminated with the "turbo 50" model designation, which is also stitched into the headrests of the standard Adaptive Sport Seats Plus. An anniversary plaque made of aluminum, located above the glove compartment, displays the "turbo 50" and the individual limited number of each model. The A-pillars, sun visors, and roof liner are upholstered in perforated Race-Tex, and the dashboard features a Porsche Design sub-second clock in a unique "turbo 50" design.
Heritage Design Package
For those seeking even more exclusive design elements, the optional Heritage Design Package "50 Years Turbo" offers additional features inspired by the 911 Turbo models of the 1970s. The base color for this package is Aventurine Green Metallic, and a high-quality decal set in white silk matte is available, which includes a lollipop graphic with an individually selectable number between 0 and 99, as well as "50 Years turbo" and "Porsche" model designations. These graphics can be partially or completely removed if preferred. The hood and wheel center caps of the Sport Classic Wheels, painted in brilliant silver and white, feature the historic Porsche crest from 1964. The "turbo 50" and "Porsche" model designations at the rear are painted in gold, while the interior features extended leather surfaces and additional tartan design elements, such as on the dashboard trim, glove compartment, and seat back inlays. The steering wheel is adorned with the historic Porsche crest, and the storage compartment in the center console bears the "Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur" designation. The dials in the instrument cluster and the Sport Chrono clock are finished in green, in keeping with the Heritage Design Package theme.
Performance and Engineering
The "2024 Porsche 911 Turbo 50 Years" is powered by the same 3.7-liter twin-turbocharged boxer engine found in the 2025 911 Turbo S, producing 640 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. With a curb weight of 3,649 lbs., this results in an impressive power-to-weight ratio of 5.7 lbs. per hp. The 911 Turbo 50 Years can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.6 seconds. Standard equipment includes an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission (PDK), Porsche Traction Management (PTM) active all-wheel drive, and Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus). The anniversary model also comes with additional standard features such as a sport exhaust system with black tailpipes, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) sport suspension with a 10 mm lower ride height, a front-axle lift system, tinted LED Matrix design headlights with Dynamic Light System Plus, and black brake calipers.
Exclusive Chronograph
In conjunction with the 911 Turbo 50 Years model, Porsche Design has created a special timepiece, the Chronograph 911 Turbo 50 Years, exclusively available to owners of the anniversary edition. This chronograph features a COSC-certified Porsche Design caliber WERK 01.200 with flyback function and is limited to 1,974 examples. The watch's black face, with elements in Turbonite, mirrors the clock fitted to the car's dashboard. The strap is crafted from the same black leather used in the car, with contrasting stitching in Turbonite, and features a folding locking mechanism. A clear caseback offers a view of the winding rotor, designed to resemble the 911 Turbo 50 Years wheels. The limitation number engraved on the titanium case matches the vehicle's limitation number. A special edition of the chronograph is also available for the Heritage Design Package option.
