2024 Nissan X-Trail Mountain Rescue Concept

Nissan presents X-Trail Mountain Rescue, a version of the Nissan crossover adapted for the needs of mountain rescue.

Modifications to the X-Trail Mountain Rescue include replacing the wheels with snow tracks, installing a stretcher in place of the rear seats and making a place for a medical professional.

Outside, a custom roof rack was added that accommodates a hard-shell stretcher and snow shovels. A siren, a flashing light bar and additional lights have also been integrated into the roof of the X-Trail. The front and rear fenders are oversized to accommodate the tracks. The front bumper is adapted to accommodate a winch, while a reinforced tow hook has been added to the front and rear bumpers. This car is 23 cm higher than the road version and to facilitate access for the driver and passengers, two comfortable side steps have been added.

The Torque Vectoring action of the brake on the four wheels, which guarantees brilliant performance and maximum control on every track and in every condition.

The most important features of e-4ORCE are the precision and speed with which the system regulates the driving power, resulting from the fact that the two electric motors act directly on the wheels of the car.

When the e-4ORCE sensors detect a change in grip on one or more wheels, as happens for example in the presence of water, snow or ice, the system adjusts the driving force on the individual wheel in a ten-thousandth (1/10,000) of a second , much faster than traditional mechanical 4WDs. This all happens automatically, without the need for driver intervention.

X-Trail Mountain Rescue is supporting the Ride Responsibly campaign in five European ski resorts, where Nissan will install digital signs inviting snow lovers to slow down at slope intersections. The signs are able to monitor the speed of approaching skiers and show the word "Thank you" to those who proceed at an adequate speed or the word "Slow down" in case of speed deemed excessive. The X-Trail Mountain Rescue will be displayed in a glass box in the Italian ski resort of Cervinia.
