The car is positioned as a pure electric large sedan with a four-seat layout. As NIO's flagship model, it is equipped with a series of NIO's new technologies, including a fully wired intelligent chassis, a 900V high-voltage architecture, an extremely low internal resistance battery, a self-developed 5nm smart driving chip Shenji, and a full-vehicle operating system SkyOS· Tianshu et al. In terms of power, the car uses a silicon carbide high-performance pure electric four-wheel drive system with a maximum power of 180kW for the front motor and 340kW for the rear motor. In addition, NIO also released a 640kW supercharging pile and a fourth-generation power swap station.
From the appearance, ET9 continues the NIO family-style design language and adopts a split headlight design. The new car is equipped with Mirco LED headlights, which can prevent drivers of oncoming cars from being disturbed by high beams, and have functions such as lane markings, which greatly improves night driving safety. The front of the ET9 looks wide and thick, reflecting the aura that a flagship model should have. There are three raised parts on the front edge of the roof of this car. There is a lidar in the middle and cameras on both sides to serve the intelligent driving system.
Viewed from the side, ET9 adopts a coupe-style large fastback design, and the entire body lines are stretched and smooth. However, this car does not seem to have the low-lying feel of a coupe. Instead, it appears taller and can provide a more spacious seating space. In terms of body size, the car's length, width and height are 5324/2016/1620mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 3250mm. ET9 is equipped with 23-inch multi-spoke wheels and adopts a suspended logo design similar to Rolls-Royce. The logo can remain upright when the vehicle is driving, further reflecting the high-end feel of the flagship model.
Looking at the rear of the car, the car adopts a family-style through-taillight design, and the silver trim strip under the rear of the car balances the heaviness of the rear of the car well. In addition to the radar on the front edge of the roof, ET9 is also equipped with two lidars for side and rear detection at the rear of the car. The three radars form a 360° detection capability without blind spots. Lidar has recently been able to detect 10cm and up to 150m away. When driving in urban areas, it can detect pedestrians and electric bicycles that suddenly rush out, further enhancing driving safety. In addition, the car is also equipped with an active adjustable rear spoiler.
The car's interior is still in the development stage and has not yet been fully revealed. However, judging from the preview pictures, the car adopts a four-seater layout and is equipped with an "executive bridge" that is nearly two meters long and runs through the front and rear rows. It integrates 20 subsystems, including an electric opening and closing smart refrigerator, and is also equipped with a 360-degree stepless adjustment The executive sitting desk has massage and heating functions. The car is equipped with a newly designed rectangular steering wheel and a full-focus AR head-up display system. It is also equipped with streaming media rearview mirror, 15.6-inch AMOLED central control screen, 14.5-inch rear display screen, 8-inch rear multi-function control screen and other configurations.

The front motor has a maximum power of 180kW, the rear motor has a maximum power of 340kW, and a peak torque of 5000N·m. The car uses a global 900V architecture and can be applied to 500V-1000V charging piles. ET9 is equipped with a self-developed 46105 cylindrical battery, with a peak charging power of up to 600kW, a peak current of up to 772A, an energy density of 292Wh/kg, a capacity of 120kWh, and a 255km recharge in 5 minutes. It only takes 3 minutes to replace the battery.
