2024 BYD Xia

BYD has entered the medium and large MPV market with the launch of the 2024 BYD Xia at the Chengdu Auto Show. This new model is positioned to compete with the Buick GL8 and is part of BYD's broader strategy, alongside the Denza D9.

On the side, the Xia exhibits design features akin to the D9 but is not a mere re-skinned variant. Compared to the D9, the Xia has a more stable appearance with a different waistline and less pronounced forward-leaning profile. The dimensions of the BYD Xia are 5145 mm in length, 1970 mm in width, and 1805 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3045 mm. In contrast, the Tengzhong D9 is larger, measuring 5250 mm in length and with a wheelbase of 3110 mm.

The vehicle is equipped with 18-inch multi-spoke wheels fitted with Michelin Lingyue series tires, size 235/60 R18, focusing on comfort. The rear design includes a small top spoiler and through-type taillights with structural similarities to the BYD Han.

The BYD Xia will feature the brand’s fifth-generation DM plug-in hybrid technology, though specific powertrain details have yet to be announced.
