2024 BMW XM Alcantara

The Quadrilatero della moda in Milan provided the perfect setting for presenting the "Sky is the limit" project, a collaboration between BMW Italia and Alcantara. This one-off creation is based on BMW M GmbH's first high-performance sports car powered by an M HYBRID engine. The project draws on the dynamic and exclusive values of both brands, contrasting the black and white colors of the Italian-made material.

Creative Collaboration

In this project, the BMW XM combines aesthetics and performance with the excellence of Italian tradition. Alcantara is used extensively for both the interior and exterior, including the M Lounge in the back. This use of Alcantara is unconventional, especially on the car's exterior, where it provides a matte effect contrasted with glossy black inserts. The surfaces are crafted with meticulous attention to detail, inspired by the geometric shapes of the BMW XM, adding visual richness to the car's exterior.

Interior Design

The interior of the BMW XM Alcantara emphasizes duality. The front cockpit is covered in black Alcantara, expressing the dynamism and sportiness typical of the brand. Details include red, blue, and black embroidered stitching and an Alcantara-covered steering wheel and gear knob for optimal grip during sporty driving. The rear seats are covered in ice white Alcantara, creating a luxurious and exclusive environment reminiscent of an elegant living room. The central armrest conceals a compartment for a bottle and two glasses, with additional pillows matching the interior design.

Roof and Door Panels

The roof pavilion is made of ice white Alcantara with a digital gradient effect, enhancing the color contrast and duality typical of the BMW XM. The door panels, dashboard, central tunnel, seats, and cushions feature an exclusive motif created through laser drilling with a blue backing. The pattern includes the colors of the Italian flag, emphasizing the Made in Italy project.

Performance and Design

The BMW XM represents the successful combination of luxury, high performance, and electrification. As the first model since the legendary BMW M1 to be exclusively designed as a high-performance BMW M car, it features decisive shapes, a comfortable interior, and an advanced plug-in hybrid propulsion system. The M Professional adaptive setup and intelligent all-wheel drive system M xDrive with M Sport differential provide powerful dynamics and exciting acceleration.

Exterior Features

The exterior design of the BMW XM includes divided optical groups, Iconic Glow contour lighting for the BMW double kidney grille, accentuated bands along the car's sides, light alloy wheels up to 23 inches, and vertically stacked hexagonal exhaust terminals integrated into the rear bumper.

M HYBRID System

The BMW XM breaks new ground with its M HYBRID system, the first high-performance car from BMW M GmbH to feature an electrified driving system. Depending on the variant, it uses a powerful inline six-cylinder engine or a V8 gasoline engine. The BMW XM Label Red version boasts a maximum power of 550 kW/748 hp, making it the most powerful series car ever produced by BMW M GmbH.
