A New Chapter: Q8 e-tron
The decision to name this model the Q8 underscores Audi's commitment to making the Q8 e-tron the flagship among its electric SUVs and crossovers. The Q8 e-tron and Q8 Sportback e-tron clearly signal their electric identity through distinctive front and rear designs, featuring the signature Singleframe mask, inverted grille, and blade atop the redesigned rear diffuser, all embodying Audi's electric design language. The edition S line package, in particular, showcases a striking Singleframe grille finished in the body color, highlighting the exclusivity of this electric SUV.
Spacious and Comfortable
With generous dimensions, the Q8 e-tron offers maximum space and comfort, including ample legroom in the rear seats and a substantial storage volume of 569 liters for the SUV and 528 liters for the Sportback, with an additional 62 liters in the front storage area, affectionately referred to as the "frunk."
Versatile Drivetrain Options
Both the Q8 e-tron and Q8 Sportback e-tron offer three drivetrain variants with electric all-wheel drive. The base models, Q8 50 e-tron and Q8 Sportback 50 e-tron, boast 250 kW of power in boost mode, delivering 664 Nm of torque and a range of up to 491 km (SUV) and up to 505 km (Sportback) according to WLTP standards. Meanwhile, the Q8 55 e-tron and Q8 Sportback 55 e-tron, with 300 kW of power in boost mode and the same torque, provide extended ranges of up to 582 km for the SUV and up to 600 km for the Sportback. The top-end Audi SQ8 e-tron and Audi SQ8 Sportback e-tron are equipped with three motors, delivering a robust 370 kW of power and 973 Nm of torque, with ranges of up to 494 km for the SUV and up to 513 km for the Sportback, limited to a top speed of 210 km/h for all Q8 e-tron models.
Increased Battery Capacity and Rapid Charging
Customers can choose from two battery sizes: the Q8 50 e-tron features an 89 kWh net (95 kWh gross) battery capacity, while the Q8 55 e-tron and SQ8 e-tron offer a larger 106 kWh net (114 kWh gross) battery. In the SQ8 e-tron, Audi utilizes a three-motor setup, with a 124 kW electric motor on the front axle and two 98 kW electric motors powering each rear wheel independently. This configuration allows for a formidable boost performance of up to 370 kW and rapid torque distribution to both rear wheels.
Balanced Performance
To strike a perfect balance between comfort and sportiness, the new Audi Q8 e-tron is equipped with an air-spring suspension featuring controlled shock absorption. This system allows for a variable car body height adjustment of up to 76 millimeters, catering to diverse driving situations. Audi has also fine-tuned the air-spring tuning to optimize lateral dynamics. The electronic stability control (ESC) adds further maneuverability, particularly in tight corners, enhancing the vehicle's agility. Notably, the progressive steering has been adjusted for quicker response, complemented by more rigid suspension bearings on the front axle, ensuring precise and direct steering control while maintaining Audi's hallmark balanced ride.
Aerodynamic Excellence
Aerodynamics played a central role in the development of the Audi Q8 e-tron. The drag coefficient has been reduced to 0.24 cw for the Q8 Sportback e-tron and 0.27 cw for the Q8 e-tron. Wheel spoilers beneath the car divert airflow effectively, with the addition of rear wheel spoilers on the Q8 Sportback e-tron. The front grille features a self-sealing system, further optimizing airflow and minimizing energy losses. This design innovation contributes to improved overall efficiency.
Convenient Remote Park Assist
The Audi Q8 e-tron offers a comprehensive suite of approximately 40 driver assistance systems. A notable addition is the remote park assist plus, available for order in 2023. This feature allows the Q8 e-tron to effortlessly maneuver into tight parking spaces, controlled via the myAudi app on smartphones. Once parked, the vehicle automatically powers off, engages the parking brake, and locks the doors. Exiting the parking space is equally convenient, with the motor activated via the myAudi app to facilitate easy departure.
Digital Matrix LED Headlights
Optional digital Matrix LED headlights enhance the Q8 e-tron's driving experience. While driving on highways, the orientation light helps maintain the vehicle's position in the lane, ensuring secure navigation through narrow spaces. Additionally, features such as enhanced traffic information, lane light with direction indicators, and orientation light on country roads further elevate the lighting capabilities of the Q8 e-tron.
Luxurious Interior
Inside the Q8 e-tron, a panoramic glass roof creates a sense of spaciousness and openness, complemented by electronically operated glass elements and blackout sunshades. The highly adjustable individual contour seats offer exceptional comfort and can be equipped with a massage function. Audi offers a range of decorative inlays, including options such as porous wood veneers, aluminum, and carbon fiber structure, catering to diverse tastes. Furthermore, environmentally conscious choices include light brown walnut wood and a sustainable technical material made partially from recycled PET bottles.
