Since the introduction of the Audi e-tron, which sold 150,000 units, Audi has been following a systematic electric roadmap. Its electric portfolio now includes eight models, with plans to increase this to more than 20 by 2026. Audi aims to release only fully electric models globally by then. The new Audi Q8 e-tron, with improved efficiency, range, and refined design, is a key part of Audi’s electric portfolio. Enhancements to battery capacity and charging performance have optimized the balance between energy density and charging capacity, increasing efficiency. Improvements to motors, progressive steering, and chassis control systems enhance the dynamic driving characteristics typical of Audi.

New Face, New Name, New Corporate Identity

The Audi Q8 e-tron is clearly positioned as the top model among Audi’s electric SUVs and crossovers. It is immediately identifiable as fully electric with new front and rear designs, including the characteristic Singleframe mask and inverted grille. The edition S line package features a Singleframe grille in body color. The Q8 e-tron introduces Audi’s new corporate identity with a two-dimensional design of the four rings on the exterior and a new model badge with Audi lettering on the B-pillar.

Maximum Space and Comfort

The Q8 e-tron offers significant space and comfort with a length of 4.915 meters, width of 1.937 meters, and height of 1.619 meters for the Sportback and 1.633 meters for the SUV. The wheelbase of 2.928 meters provides ample legroom in the back seats. Storage volume is generous, with 569 liters for the SUV and 528 liters for the Sportback, plus an additional 62 liters in the front storage area, or "frunk."

Three Drivetrain Variants

Both body shapes of the Q8 e-tron offer three drivetrain variants with electric all-wheel drive. The base models, Audi Q8 50 e-tron and Audi Q8 Sportback 50 e-tron, generate 250 kW in boost mode and 664 Nm of torque, with ranges up to 491 km for the SUV and 505 km for the Sportback. The Audi Q8 55 e-tron and Audi Q8 Sportback 55 e-tron generate 300 kW in boost mode and 664 Nm of torque, with ranges up to 582 km for the SUV and 600 km for the Sportback. The top-end Audi SQ8 e-tron and Audi SQ8 Sportback e-tron are powered by three motors, producing 370 kW and 973 Nm of torque, with ranges up to 494 km for the SUV and 513 km for the Sportback.

More Battery Capacity and Higher Charging Performance

Two battery sizes are available for the Q8 e-tron. The Q8 50 e-tron has a storage capacity of 89 net kilowatt-hours (95 gross kWh), while the Q8 55 e-tron and SQ8 e-tron have 106 net kWh (114 gross kWh). Adjustments to the battery management system have increased the usable battery capacity. The Q8 50 e-tron reaches a maximum charging performance of 150 kW, while the Q8 55 e-tron and SQ8 e-tron can charge at up to 170 kW. At high-powered charging stations, the battery can charge from ten to 80 percent in about 31 minutes, providing a range of up to 420 kilometers. The Audi Q8 e-tron comes standard with the Plug & Charge function, allowing automatic authorization and billing at compatible charging stations.

Revised Rear-Axle Motor and Electric Torque Vectoring for Better Dynamics

The new Audi Q8 e-tron features a modified asynchronous motor concept on the rear axle, generating a stronger magnetic field with similar electricity input, resulting in more torque and lower energy consumption. The SQ8 e-tron uses a refined three-motor concept, with a 124-kW motor on the front axle and two 98-kW motors on the rear axle, allowing for a boost performance of up to 370 kW and improved drive torque distribution.

Balancing Comfort and Sportiness

The Q8 e-tron comes standard with an air-spring suspension with controlled shock absorption, allowing the car body height to vary by 76 millimeters depending on the driving situation. Adjustments to air-spring tuning and electronic stability control (ESC) enhance maneuverability and agility, especially in tight corners. Revised progressive steering with a changed gear ratio improves responsiveness and feedback from steering reactions.

Improved Aerodynamics

Aerodynamics were a priority in the design of the Q8 e-tron, reducing the drag coefficient to 0.24 cw for the Q8 Sportback e-tron and 0.27 cw for the Q8 e-tron. Enlarged front axle spoilers and new rear wheel spoilers optimize airflow. A self-sealing system in the grille further enhances aerodynamics by preventing undesired losses.

Convenient Parking with Remote Park Assist Plus

The Q8 e-tron offers around 40 driver assistance systems, including the new remote park assist plus, which allows the vehicle to maneuver into tight parking spaces controlled via the myAudi app. The car automatically switches off, engages the parking brake, and locks the doors once parked.

Digital Matrix LED Headlights

The Q8 e-tron optionally features digital Matrix LED headlights, enhancing safety with orientation light, enhanced traffic information, lane light with direction indicator, and orientation light on country roads.

Luxury-Class Interior

The interior features a glass panorama roof, two-zone or optional four-zone automatic climate control, and air quality package. Ventilated standard seats and highly adjustable individual contour seats with massage function enhance comfort. Optional decorative inlays include porous wood veneers, aluminum, carbon fiber, and sustainable materials made from recycled PET bottles.

High-Resolution Touch Displays and Voice Control

The Q8 e-tron uses the MMI touch response operating system with two large high-resolution displays (10.1-inch and 8.6-inch) and natural voice control. The standard Audi virtual cockpit with full HD resolution provides specific graphics for electric driving. MMI Navigation plus, with high-speed LTE Advanced data transmission and integrated WiFi hotspot, supports intelligent navigation with car-to-X services.

Materials from Recycling Processes

The Audi Q8 e-tron will be certified as net-carbon-neutral in Europe and the USA. Recycled materials are used for insulation, damping, carpeting, and decorative inlays. The S line package features synthetic leather and microfiber upholstery made from recycled materials. Audi’s PlasticLoop project uses mixed automotive plastic waste for safety-related components, contributing to environmental protection.
