About the Car
2024 Alpina BMW B4 GT
GT - an abbreviation that stands for particularly desirable automobiles in the ALPINA nomenclature.
With the new BMW ALPINA B3 GT and B4 GT, we are continuing our long tradition of special models that stand-out from the rest. The new GT models join a lineage of automotive masterpieces that have become sought-after enthusiasts’ favourites.
Explosive power delivery, outstanding driving performance, agile driving dynamics paired with distinctive driving comfort - the latest evolutionary stage is a manifestation of the ALPINA philosophy. The sense for the extraordinary is reflected in special details, implemented in traditional craftsmanship in our automobile manufactory in Buchloe. The latest members of the ALPINA GT family are far more than just another automobile, they embody an attitude to life which, we are convinced, will inspire enthusiasts all over the world.
TECHNOLOGY
Higher Output, Thrilling Power Delivery
The 3.0 litre inline six-cylinder engine with bi-turbocharging from the current BMW ALPINA 3 and 4 Series, praised for its smooth power delivery, benefits in the GT version from an increase in output of 34 hp to now offer a total of 389 kW (529 hp). In countless development kilometres on the test bench and on the road, the ALPINA engineers have revised the engine mapping to ensure that the performance and power reserves (max. 730 Nm) are available in every driving situation and thus underline the superior character of the drivetrain - be it during smooth acceleration in city traffic or under full load on the motorway.
An ZF 8-Speed Sport-Automatic Transmission in combination with the fully variable all-wheel drive system and an electronically controlled rear limited slip differential ensure that the increased power is efficiently translated into driving dynamics. In keeping with the GT character of the drivetrain, the programming of the transmission has been revised to match the potential of the increased power output.
Precision and Comfort
The BMW ALPINA B3 GT models profit from a BMW 3 Series update which sees a stiffer connection between the rear dampers and the bodyshell which improves driving dynamics. ALPINA dome- bulkhead reinforcement struts in the front end provide additional rigidity and noticeably increase steering precision. The BMW ALPINA B3 GT saloon receives a larger dimensioned rear stabiliser for better roll support and improved steering response.
Similarly, special attention was concentrated on ensuring that the ride comfort does not suffer as a consequence of improved dynamics – which is why the ALPINA engineers opted for a new shock absorber configuration. The GT characteristics are thus fully reflected in the chassis set-up: precise vehicle feedback for enhanced driving dynamics goes hand in hand with pronounced ride comfort and composure that has always been associated with the ALPINA brand.
Improved Dynamics for the BMW ALPINA B4 GT Gran Coupé
Several measures to enhance the agility of the BMW ALPINA B4 GT have gone into the development of a revised chassis and suspension set-up. New stabilisers with reinforced mounts are used on the front axle, which aid precision. To this end, the variable sports steering setup and the active dynamic damping control have also been extensively revised. The new set-up of the rear-biased but fully variable all-wheel drive system and electronically controlled rear limited slip differential sharpen the driving experience and offer noticeably more precise cornering behaviour.
EXTERIOR DESIGN
Powerful Appearance
On the exterior, the BMW ALPINA B3 GT and B4 GT models exhibit several edition-specific features that unmistakably identify them as special GT models. The front spoiler is now accentuated by small canards and splitter. In combination with the newly designed rear diffuser*, the overall package provides good front and rear aerodynamic balance. The rear diffuser on the GT models is finished in black high-gloss to match the tailpipes which are now also finished in black.
The progressive front of the Gran Coupé is accentuated by the new BMW 4 Series headlights which feature a striking inner design structure. The Adaptive LED headlights, which can be selected as an option also feature a new BMW light design with three-dimensional light graphics at the rear.
ALPINA CLASSIC 20“ Forged Wheels
The modern design of the 20” forged wheels previously fitted to the BMW ALPINA B4 models now also come as standard on the BMW ALPINA B3 GT models. The very fine spokes are diamond cut and have a pronounced contour-angle in towards the lockable wheel hub cover. The wheels are finished in the exclusive GT design colour called Oro Tecnico. Discreet model-specific GT lettering is incorporated into the rim well in silver.
Colour Variety
The popular and traditional ALPINA Blue and ALPINA Green paintworks, which are exclusively reserved for BMW ALPINA automobiles, harmonise perfectly with the exterior design features in Oro Tecnico. Further interesting colour combinations to recommend are the BMW Individual solid paintworks Fashion Grey, Brewster Green or Imola Red as well as the metallic paintworks Daytona Violet or Carbon Black is also recommended.
For the exterior, there is the option of the classic ALPINA Deco-Set also carried out in Oro Tecnico with model-specific GT lettering. The free-standing ALPINA lettering in the front apron can also be finished in Oro Tecnico to match the model lettering at the rear.
INTERIOR DESIGN
Oro Tecnico – Sportive Elegance
In the interior, numerous details pick up on the design colour of the GT models. Oro Tecnico is used for the stitching of the steering wheel, which is hand-finished in the finest LAVALINA leather, the ALPINA SWITCH-TRONIC shift paddles made of anodised aluminium and the stitching of the black leather edging of the floor and luggage compartment mats. Discreet GT lettering can be found both in the door sill trims and in the new sports steering wheel.
New BMW Cockpit Design
In the modernised BMW cockpit, a production number plate with an individual serial number is mounted in the centre console - as is customary for BMW ALPINA automobiles - as a unique identifying feature of every car from Buchloe. The engine compartment badge also bears this individual number. ALPINA continues to rely on the classic BMW gear selector in the centre control panel of the cockpit. In terms of driving assistance systems, the BMW ALPINA B4 GT Gran Coupé benefits from the addition of the BMW Driving Assistant Professional to the standard equipment list.
