2023 Toyota FJ Bruiser Concept: A Classic Off-Roader Reimagined
The 2023 Toyota FJ Bruiser Concept pays homage to the iconic Toyota Land Cruiser FJ45 pickup truck while incorporating modern off-road technology. Unveiled at the 2022 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, this one-of-a-kind build blends old school style with extreme off-road performance.
A Modern Take on a Classic Toyota Off-Roader
With the return of the Toyota Land Cruiser to the U.S. market, Toyota's SEMA team decided to showcase the model's roots by reimagining a 1966 FJ45 pickup. The goal was to build an "unstoppable" rock crawler worthy of the name "FJ Bruiser."
Toyota Racing Development provided a modified 725 horsepower V8 engine, while custom axles and differentials from Currie and Advanced Adapter ensure maximum traction. The FJ Bruiser features a full tube chassis with custom suspension, allowing for tremendous articulation and wheel travel.
Iconic Toyota Style with Extreme Capability
The FJ Bruiser retains the iconic styling of the original FJ45, including the classic plaid interior. But the upgrades are all about maximizing off-road performance.
The 42-inch BF Goodrich tires provide plenty of traction, while the CAMSO track system allows the FJ Bruiser to power over obstacles. Fox shocks and Eibach springs soak up the bumps, keeping the tires planted on uneven terrain.
Built for the Toughest Trails
From the powerful V8 to the custom suspension and drivetrain components, the FJ Bruiser Concept is ready to conquer even the most challenging off-road trails.
With 12 speeds available between the transmission and transfer case, the FJ Bruiser has the gearing to crawl slowly or reach highway speeds. The tank-like tracks provide extra traction when needed.
The 2023 Toyota FJ Bruiser Concept pays homage to Toyota's off-road heritage while showing the potential of modern technology. This custom SEMA build blends old school charm with extreme capability for the ultimate classic off-roader.
