2023 Seat Arona Marina Pack Edition
SEAT collaborates with SEAQUAL INITIATIVE and Autoneum to promote sustainability and preserve natural resources in the Mediterranean and beyond.
The special editions of SEAT Ibiza and Arona, known as Marina Pack, incorporate recycled materials in their seat trim covers and floors.
LABEL blue by BORGERS® recycled materials are used in SEAT vehicles, contributing to the removal of over 2 million plastic bottles from the ocean annually.
SEAQUAL INITIATIVE and LABEL blue by BORGERS® work with NGOs, fishermen, and local communities to clean up marine litter from various sources.
The collected plastic waste is transformed into upcycled marine plastic, which is used to create SEAQUAL® YARN and LABEL blue by BORGERS® polyester marine fibers.
SEAT's use of recycled materials supports the company's sustainability goals and helps in the continuous cleaning of seas, rivers, and oceans.
Dr. Werner Tietz, Executive Vice-President for Research and Development at SEAT and CUPRA, emphasizes the importance of preserving the Mediterranean.
The Special Edition SEAT Ibiza and Arona Marina Pack, featuring recycled materials, will start production in June 2023.
The collaboration between SEAT and recycling initiatives demonstrates the automotive industry's commitment to environmental responsibility.
Incorporating recycled materials in car production is a significant step towards a more sustainable and eco-friendly future.
SEAT, in collaboration with SEAQUAL INITIATIVE, is dedicated to driving innovation, promoting the circular economy, and preserving natural resources in the Mediterranean and beyond. As part of this commitment, SEAT has partnered with Autoneum and has become the first car manufacturer to incorporate LABEL blue by BORGERS® recycled materials, effectively removing over 2 million plastic bottles from the ocean annually.
In line with their sustainability efforts, SEAT is introducing special editions of the SEAT Ibiza and Arona, called the Marina Pack. These editions feature seat trim covers made from SEAQUAL® YARN, integrating recycled materials. Furthermore, all versions of the SEAT Ibiza and Arona now incorporate LABEL blue by BORGERS® recycled materials sourced from marine plastics in the floors and carpets.
SEAQUAL INITIATIVE and LABEL blue by BORGERS® collaborate with NGOs, fishermen, authorities, and local communities to actively clean up the seas and oceans. Through comprehensive clean-up programs, marine litter from beaches, ocean surfaces, sea floors, rivers, and estuaries is collected. After careful sorting, the plastic waste is thoroughly cleaned and transformed into upcycled marine plastic. This material is then used to create SEAQUAL® YARN for seat trim covers and LABEL blue by BORGERS® polyester marine fibers for floors and carpets.
Dr. Werner Tietz, Executive Vice-President for Research and Development at SEAT and CUPRA, expressed the company’s dedication to finding innovative solutions to meet sustainability goals. By utilizing recycled materials, SEAT not only achieves its objectives but also actively contributes to the ongoing cleaning of seas, rivers, and oceans. Dr. Tietz emphasized the significance of preserving the Mediterranean, a vital natural resource in close proximity to SEAT.
Production of the Special Edition SEAT Ibiza and Arona Marina Pack, featuring SEAQUAL® YARN seat trim and LABEL blue by BORGERS® recycled polyester fibers in the floors and carpets, is scheduled to commence in June 2023.
