Nissan introduces the 2023 Nissan Sentra DET Concept, a high-performance marvel inspired by the Sentra Cup spec-racing series in Canada. This concept, set to join the U.S. round in 2024, pays homage to Nissan’s iconic SE-R models and NISMO heritage, embodying Nissan’s rich performance legacy.
Under the hood, the Sentra DET boasts a turbocharged MR20DD 2.0-liter engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission and a prototype stainless-steel NISMO B18 performance exhaust, providing a deep engine tone. The concept’s name, DET, signifies “Dual overhead cam, Electronic Fuel Injection, Turbo,” referencing renowned Nissan engines like Silvia, Pulsar GTI-R, Skyline, and Stagea.
Enhancing its performance, the concept features a prototype NISMO coilover suspension with twin-tube shocks and linear-rate springs, expertly tuned with input from GT4 professional racer Bryan Heitkotter. The car rides on 18-inch NISMO LM-RS6 wheels, available in various finishes, fitted with high-performance Yokohama ADVAN Neova® AD09 tires.
