2023 Alfa Romeo Giulia Veloce Q4
The European tour of the new Giulia and Stelvio kicks off today, preceding their debut in the exclusive Alfa Romeo showrooms. The two new models mark a significant stage in their history, evolving both in the brand’s proverbial excellence – perfect weight balance, first-class driving dynamics, technological and engine solutions at the top of the segment – and in that “timeless beauty”, a typical trait of Alfa Romeo design, which makes them two authentic “moving works of art” conceived to last over the years. And today this “beauty” of Italian design is made even more seductive and contemporary, focusing the stylistic intervention on the front in order to create a clear and strong family feeling with Tonale. The debut in the Alfa Romeo showrooms in Italy
In Italy, the public will be able to admire them during the Open Doors dedicated to the new Tonale Plug-in Hybrid Q4, scheduled for the weekend of 11 and 12 February. Everything is therefore ready to welcome enthusiasts who want to discover the evolution of two successful models which, last year alone, totaled around 10,000 registrations in Italy, despite an increasingly competitive market. Furthermore, Stelvio is the leader of the D-SUV segment for the fourth consecutive year, with a share of over 16%, which rises to around 20% in the Premium segment, while Giulia confirms its leadership among the non-hybrid sedans in the D segment. The price list starts at €47,050 for the new Giulia and €53,150 for the new Stelvio.
“ Evolving is performance art”
The launch of the two new models is preceded by the press presentation event “ E volving is performance art”, which encompasses all the work and passion of Alfa Romeo designers and engineers in order to improve two masterpieces, both the result of a perfect aesthetic and functional balance. An ambitious goal that required truly extraordinary particular skill and a search for excellence, the same elements that lie behind a work of art. This is why the evolution of Giulia and Stelvio can be compared to “Performance Art”, the new form of art in which the artist’s performance takes place live in front of the spectators. In the same way, in fact, Alfa Romeo “mechanical creations” manifest themselves in real life, arousing strong emotions and ensuring the best driving experience in the automotive world. But to stay always contemporary and in step with the times, all automotive icons need to evolve, while retaining the essence of the original project. Furthermore, the word “performance” also refers to the performance inherent in the DNA of the brand of noble Italian sportsmanship since 1910. Andit is certainly no coincidence that, at the beginning of the twentieth century, Futurism chose the automobile as a symbol of beauty, speed and dynamism – just think of Marinetti’s famous phrase “A racing car is more beautiful than the Victory of Samothrace” – just as the first Alfa Romeos of the 1920s and 30s would become the most portrayed in the posters of that period, including the splendid poster by Aldo Mazza for the 1924 Circuito di Milano. In short, the Italian brand is closely linked to Art, understood as the maximum expression of a timeless aesthetic culture. And Giulia and Stelvio are no exception, also because they represent the state of the art, aesthetic and technological, in their respective categories and will continue to be a point of reference for Alfa Romeo which wants to reinvent sportiness in the twenty-first century.
A new “look”
On the front of the New Giulia and Stelvio stands out a brand new treatment of the front grilles, where the logo is positioned, and the lower ones intended for the two main air intakes, giving rise to a contemporary reinterpretation of the famous and distinctive “Trilobo”. The front light clusters represent the main novelty on the front: starting today, in fact, the “3+3” lighting system makes its debut on both models, with new adaptive Full-LED Matrix headlights, which creates a strong family feeling with Tonale and, at the same time, at the same time, it recalls a renowned stylistic feature of the Brand introduced by the iconic Alfa Romeo SZ Zagato and the Alfa Romeo Proteo concept. The three modules make up a single frontline of the New Giulia and Stelvio and simultaneously supply daylight and dynamic direction indicators, guaranteeing the best lighting conditions thanks to the introduction of two sophisticated technologies: the “Adaptive Front Lighting System”, which provides continuous adjustment of the dipped beam headlights based on speed and specific driving conditions, and the “Glare-Free High Beam Segmented Technology” which, in low light conditions, automatically detects traffic in front and/or in the opposite direction to avoid glare from other cars; and finally the “Welcome and Goodbye” device which is activated every time the driver locks or unlocks the car. All this translates into more efficiency – in terms of duration and energy savings – and greater safety, thanks to less eye strain and better driving comfort. The layout of the rear LED light clusters, a perfect combination of style and sophisticated technologies, has also been renewed in order to accentuate the sporty spirit of both models. I In detail, the New Stelvio features new rear light clusters with smoked glass and a glossy black finish, while those of the New Giulia adopt glass and a transparent finish.
New fully digital instrument cluster
The New Giulia and Stelvio are equipped with the most advanced technology to ensure a connected and comfortable experience, while maintaining the driving pleasure typical of an Alfa Romeo. The most significant innovation can be seen in the center of the instrument panel, characterized by the historic “telescope” design, where the new 12.3″ TFT screen stands out – totally digital – from which you can access all the information on the car and the parameters relating to autonomous driving technologies. Furthermore, the cluster can be reconfigured through three layouts: “Evolved”, which represents the design vision of the Alfa Romeos of the future by enhancing the central area of the screen while maintaining the 2 side quadrants; “Relax”, with a specific focus on comfort, free from detailed vehicle information and characterized by the absence of the 2 dials; and finally “Heritage” , which is inspired by the brand’s iconic models of the 60s and 70s, with distinctive details such as the inverted numbers on the end of the speedometer.

NFT technology and “Alfa Connect Services”
The new Giulia and Stelvio are equipped with a fluid and intuitive HMI (Human Machine Interface) to have all the functions at your fingertips. Furthermore, the infotainment system guarantees contents, functions and the “Alfa Connect Services” platform which offers a wide range of useful services for safety and comfort and is designed to offer “Over The Air” updates. For example, the “My Remote” function includes various services, including the possibility of remotely controlling certain functions of your vehicle (opening/closing doors, flashing lights) via smartphone/smartwatch. NFT (Non-Fungible-Token) technology will soon be available on the new Giulia and Stelvio as well. The technology is based on the concept of “blockchain card”, a secret and non-editable digital register which contains the main information on the individual vehicle. A distinctive off-board feature, ready to use and sustainable, which underlines the innovative character of Alfa Romeo. Based on the customer’s selection, the NFT generates a certificate containing data on the life of the car. Certification that can be used as a guarantee of the good maintenance of the vehicle, consequently supporting its residual value. Therefore, the NFT certification represents, on the second-hand market, a further source of credibility, which helps the owner/dealer, but also reassures the buyer in choosing a second-hand vehicle.
The driving dynamics are the best in the segment
The driving dynamics of the New Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio are confirmed as best in class in their respective segments, offering a visceral driving experience in the name of the most authentic Alfa Romeo spirit, i.e. the right balance between Italian design, cutting-edge engines , perfect weight distribution, unique technical solutions and excellent weight/power ratio. From this “magic formula” comes the essence of pure sportiness of the Alfa Romeo models, of yesterday and today, which starting from Tonale – symbol of the brand’s Metamorphosis – is evolving to redefine the sportiness of the 21st century, in perfect harmony with increasingly sustainable mobility. To reach this new level of sportiness, made up of performance and efficiency, the Italian brand can count on its renowned excellence.
Lightness and agility : the impeccable and sporty dynamic behavior of Giulia and Stelvio is supported by the widespread use of ultra-light materials, such as aluminum used, for example, for the base of the engines and carbon, used for the drive shaft, a derivative solution directly from the world of competitions.
All-wheel drive with Q4 technology:the system manages vehicle traction in a reactive and predictive way, in order to guarantee the highest level in terms of performance, efficiency and safety in all driving conditions. Q4 technology ensures all the benefits of all-wheel drive and, at the same time, guarantees reduced fuel consumption, responsiveness and all the driving pleasure of a rear-wheel drive car. The beating heart is the active torque distribution system (active transfer box or ATC) which monitors the grip conditions and the driver’s requests in real time to always guarantee the best performance. The car features 100% rear-wheel drive. As the grip limit approaches or as a function of a specific request from the driver,
Q2 mechanical self-locking differential : on the Veloce trim level it is possible to integrate the Q4 all-wheel drive with the Q2 mechanical self-locking rear differential, also available with rear wheel drive only. The self-locking rear differential emphasizes agility and sporty character by guaranteeing perfect traction, greater stability of the vehicle when cornering at high speed and lateral acceleration and maximum safety in wet or slippery conditions thanks to constant wheel control and slip reduction.

Alfa Link suspension : driving an Alfa Romeo car is an unmistakable and unforgettable sensation. This is also thanks to the exclusive Alfa TM Link suspension architecture. At the front, there is a high wishbone suspension with double lower lever and semi-virtual steering axis, which optimizes the filtering effect and allows quick and precise steering for uncompromising handling. At the rear, a four-and-a-half link multilink solution was chosen – an Alfa Romeo patent – which guarantees high handling combined with excellent comfort. The Alfa TM active suspension is available exclusively for the Competizione special series Active Suspension with electronically controlled damping, which adapts instant by instant to driving conditions and allows you to choose between performance-oriented or comfort-oriented behaviour.
(IBS) Integrated brake system: the electromechanical system combines stability control with the braking system, guaranteeing instantaneous brake response, thus limiting the stopping distance, as well as allowing for significant weight optimization. the use of the brake by wire system in fact involves a considerable reduction of the components inside the engine compartment by replacing the assembly consisting of the pump, brake booster and ESP with a single hardware, guaranteeing a reduction in the cantilevered masses to the advantage of the agility of the car.
The extremely direct steering, combined with the 8-speed ZF automatic transmission with fixed aluminum paddles which guarantees unrivaled cornering maneuverability, contributes to the dynamic excellence of the Giulia and Stelvio. Last but not least, in a perfect balance between driving pleasure and assistance systems, the New Giulia and Stelvio offer a complete set of ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) functions for level 2 autonomous driving which by definition is achieved when the driver can leave your car to control the accelerator, brake and steering under certain conditions, through electronic systems that require continuous monitoring of the driver but support him to offer him greater comfort on long journeys. The driver must in any case exercise continuous control by keeping his hands on the steering wheel.
Simple and intuitive range logic
The New Giulia and Stelvio converge on the new range logic introduced with the Tonale, which makes configuration by the customer even easier. Four trim levels are available, a well-defined characterization that satisfies the needs of the most demanding customers. The Super trim is the gateway to the unique Alfa Romeo experience, even more exclusive with the Sprint trim level, which includes numerous options with a strong sporting connotation. At the top of the range we find the Ti trim, which enhances the elegance and distinctive character of the two cars, and the Veloce trim, for achieve the maximum in terms of performance and sportsmanship. Without forgetting that the names Super, Sprint, Ti and Veloce have their roots in the Alfa Romeo tradition. So, four distinctive trim levels but all capable of responding to the needs of a customer looking for a real symbiosis with their car. Finally, the New Giulia and Stelvio will be available in rear-wheel drive 160 HP diesel versions together with the powerful 280 HP petrol and 210 HP four-wheel drive diesel engines.
