2022 Jaguar F-TYPE Convertible

Today, Jaguar revealed updates to the F-TYPE, its flagship sports car, for the 2022 model year, including the addition of F-TYPE P450 to form an all-V8 lineup. From 2022, F-TYPE will be offered in two distinct configurations with more standard luxury and convenience features than before: the 444hp F-TYPE P450 and 575hp F-TYPE R. Introducing F-TYPE P450

Joining the lineup in the United States for the 2022 model year, F-TYPE P450 is the new entry point to the iconic Jaguar sports car roster.

Unique to F-TYPE, its supercharged, 444hp V8 has been developed to offer exploitable, rewarding performance – its maximum torque of 428 lb-ft. being generated from just 2,500rpm. A standard electronic active differential further optimizes traction. In either configuration, RWD or AWD, F-TYPE P450 bolts from 0 to 60mph in just 4.4 seconds, with a maximum speed of 177 mph.(1)

Like F-TYPE R, F-TYPE P450 offers Quiet Start as a standard feature, which ensures a more subtle, refined sound upon startup. The electrically actuated bypass valves in the rear silencer remain closed until they automatically open up under load, releasing the signature roar fundamental to the F-TYPE driving experience. Quiet Start can be overridden by selecting Dynamic Mode or by pressing the switchable exhaust button before starting the engine, if desired. Further enhancing the value proposition of F-TYPE P450 are standard Configurable Dynamics, 20-inch wheels, larger brakes (380mm front, 376mm rear), and switchable active exhaust.(3)

The design hallmarks introduced in the 2021 model year remain unchanged, led by a focus on purity and discipline to its perfectly sculpted form. Super-slim LED headlights with subtly updated signature Double J-Blade daytime running lights blend perfectly into the surfacing of the clamshell hood, exaggerating the visual width and accentuating its assertive stance. The rear haunches enhance the inherently dramatic, purposeful form of F-TYPE, while the new slender rear lights combine an unmistakable LED chicane signature, with subtle monogram pattern detailing. To this exterior styling, F-TYPE P450 R-DYNAMIC AWD adds bespoke badging; a gloss black front splitter, side sills, valance, and venturi; auto-dimming, power-folding, heated door mirrors with memory; and 20″ Style 6003, split-spoke, gloss Dark Grey with Contrast Diamond Turned Finish Wheels.

2022 Jaguar F-TYPE Convertible Front View 3/4

The interior combines traditional Jaguar craftsmanship with rich, contemporary materials such as Windsor Leather and satin-finish Noble Chrome. Beautiful details include monogram stitch patterns in the seats and door trims, Jaguar Leaper motifs in the headrests, and subtle “Jaguar Est.1935” markings on the center console finisher, glovebox release button surround, and seatbelt guides. Six-way electric power seats are standard on F-TYPE P450 RWD, while F-TYPE P450 R-DYNAMIC AWD adds 12-way electric memory front seats, electrically adjustable steering column with memory, Delta Aluminum Center Console, and R-DYNAMIC branded metal treadplates as standard equipment.

F-TYPE P450 is available in 11 standard exterior colors, and can also be ordered in over a dozen custom SVO paint finishes.

All F-TYPE P450 models come standard with the 12.3-inch reconfigurable Interactive Driver Display that offers a choice of different display modes, including full map. As befits a true sports car, the default mode is characterized by the large central rev counter. This feature and the gearshift light subtly convey the driver-focused character and performance potential of F-TYPE.(4)

F-TYPE R maintains its status

The 575hp F-TYPE R continues to set the benchmark for involving, driver-focused sports cars. For the 2022 model year, F-TYPE R remains the iconic sports car. Combined with the torque on-demand all-wheel drive system with Jaguar Intelligent Driveline Dynamics (IDD) control technology, F-TYPE R delivers truly extraordinary performance and immediate throttle response. Acceleration from 0 to 60 mph takes just 3.5 seconds, and top speed is electronically limited to 186 mph. Aluminum double wishbone front and rear suspension and a state-of-the-art electric power-assisted steering system offering an even more connected feel are fundamental to the immediate and intuitive responses to every driver input.
