2021 Renault Duster Brazilian Version

The new Duster 2021 arrives on the Brazilian market to continue a success story. On the outside, the design is completely new, with more muscular lines, which convey grandeur and robustness. The headlights now feature the signature light characteristic of the Renault range with “C” shaped LED daytime running lights. The new bumper is associated with the striking hood lines, completely transforming the customer’s perception. More aerodynamic, the model reduced the angle of the windshield and increased its waist line, thus reducing the glass area.

Inside, a real revolution, with more perceived quality and better ergonomics. Among the novelties are the most modern and functional instrument panel, the 8-inch Easy Link multimedia center, the seats with new foam and new coating, the air conditioning system and a series of materials that make up the vehicle’s design.

The new Renault Duster combines robustness and comfort to guarantee satisfaction on any urban or off-road terrain. With the largest entry (30 °) and exit (34 ° 5 ‘) angles in the segment and the highest ground height (237 mm), the Duster faces obstacles with ease. In addition, the vehicle maintains the largest trunk in its category, with 475 liters, and offers ample internal space. The model also shows an increase of 12.5% ​​in its torsional stiffness, when compared to the previous model, which allows to face uneven terrain with tranquility.

More modern and technological to facilitate the customer’s life, the SUV brings the new multimedia center Easy Link, with capacitive screen of 8 ” with Android Auto and Apple Carplay. With a customizable layout for up to five different users, the screen adjusts to each consumer’s desire. Through the multimedia center it is also possible to view images from the four cameras of the new Multiview system, which allows you to see the four sides of the vehicle to assist in off-road situations. Bringing more security, the Duster also receives a blind spot alert and the twilight sensor for automatic headlight turning on.

The vehicle comes in four versions: Zen , Zen CVT X-Tronic, Intense CVT X-Tronic and Iconic CVT X-Tronic .

Iconic Design 
The new Duster 2021 features a completely renovated exterior, maintaining the iconic design recognized by the market, with muscular lines that convey even more robustness.

At the front, the vehicle brings a new luminous signature with LED daytime running lights around the headlights, in a “C” shape, characteristic of the Renault range. The striking new lines of the hood, associated with the new chrome bumper, bring even more grandeur. Another important change in design was the reduction of the angle of the windshield, making the model more aerodynamic.

On the side, the Duster has a higher waist line, with a smaller glass area and receives new doors, with lines that strengthen the look of the product. New wheels add more modernity to the model.

Among the novelties on the rear are: trunk lid, bumper and LED flashlights, which transform the customer’s perception and reinforce its iconic design. In the upper part of the vehicle, new roof bars complement the robust look.

When buying the Renault Duster the customer will be able to choose between eight color options, being: Glacier white, Étoile silver, Dune beige, Mink brown, Vivid red, Cassiopé gray, Iron blue and Nacré black.

Interior revolution
The interior of the new Duster has undergone a process of total reformulation to bring more comfort, perceived quality, ergonomics and technologies that facilitate the daily life of the occupants.

The panel has been completely redesigned, featuring a new center console, with new air vents, instrument panel and the new Easy Link multimedia center with a more modern and connected 8 ” screen. The new digital air conditioning system, with chrome rings, also offers more comfort to passengers, with eight speeds and 19 temperature options between 17.5 ° C and 26.5 ° C. The same happens with the door panels with fabric-covered armrest, new handles and internal lighting. In the manual version, the gear lever is also completely new.

To bring more comfort and modernity to the product, the front seats are also new. The seat receives longer foams and better lateral support, while the backrest has greater thickness and larger sides, in addition to new head and arm supports. With the driver’s comfort in mind, the seat also offers height adjustment.

In the Duster 2021, occupants of the vehicle have more space to store their objects. The current model offers 1.5 liters more space than the previous model, reaching 20.3 liters in total, improving practicality on board.

The vehicle maintains the largest trunk in its category, with a load capacity of 475 liters, which facilitates the transport of luggage and assists in long trips and adventures.

TECHNOLOGY FOR COMFORT
The Duster 2021 receives new equipment that makes the product more technological, ensuring more convenience and practicality for the vehicle’s occupants.

More connectivity
The new Easy Link multimedia center brings more technology and connectivity to the driver. With an 8 ” capacitive screen with a simple and intuitive interface, the control panel has a customizable layout and offers mirroring for cell phones through Android Auto and Apple Carplay. Occupants can also connect via Bluetooth and view information such as outside temperature and time directly on the screen.

The system has a wide range of customization options to adapt the screen to the taste of each customer. Easy Link allows the registration of up to five profiles, which can customize functions without interfering with the other registered profiles. Through the system it is possible to:

• – Choose a name and a cover photo;
• – Define a custom screen layout;
• – Save your radio and sound configuration preferences;
• – Save up to nine radio stations in the system memory;
• – Enable or disable door unlocking without the key;
• – Customize a welcome sequence, including audible warnings when opening doors and entering the vehicle;
• – Customize the sound of the keys.

Another important novelty is the possibility of pairing up to six cell phones simultaneously via Bluetooth, making it possible to make two calls through the system at the same time, which ensures greater comfort for the vehicle occupants. There is also the option to access the system as a guest, without logging in as one of the five accounts already set up.

To assist the driver in saving fuel and monitoring his travels, the center maintains Eco Scoring and Eco Monitoring, systems that already exist in Renault vehicles with Media Nav and Media Evolution.

Multiview System   
An important novelty of the Duster 2021 is the Multiview system, which consists of four cameras, one front, two side and one rear, allowing the driver to change the view between the images by Easy Link to obtain a view from all directions of the vehicle. The system guarantees more comfort and safety for the driver to overcome situations in off-road terrain.

More convenience
Another device that makes its debut in the vehicle is the twilight sensor, available in high-end versions, which allows the automatic headlights to turn on when dark. The car has a speed limiter and controller, a convenience for urban journeys or long journeys. On roads with limited speed, the equipment brings safety to the driver ensuring that he does not exceed the established limit. The system also offers more comfort and practicality by maintaining a speed pre-established by the driver, even making resumes automatically.

The new electric steering brings more comfort for urban use and firmness and precision for use on roads. With the improvement, the number of turns from one end to the other of the steering wheel decreased from 3.28 to 3.10 and the maneuvering effort decreased by 35% compared to the previous version.

The new Duster also won the Hands Free card key, with the vehicle unlocking by approach, the vehicle closing by clearance and starting without the need to insert it into the panel.

SECURITY TECHNOLOGY
To ensure greater safety for the occupants, the new Duster received structural reinforcements, a new three-point central rear belt and front belts with pre-tensioners. The vehicle has an increase of 12.5% ​​in its torsional stiffness, when compared to the previous model, which allows to face uneven terrain with tranquility.

Another important device incorporated in the Duster 2021 is the blind spot alert, which turns on a light in the exterior mirrors when a vehicle is in the driver’s blind zone. To assist in maneuvering and parking, the driver also has a parking sensor composed of four sensors.
In addition, the new Duster brings in 100% of the range technologies to increase traffic safety: ESP (Electronic Stability Control), which helps the driver to maintain control of the vehicle in sudden changes of trajectory or loss of grip in curves, ABS brakes with AFU (Emergency Braking Aid) and HSA (Ramp Start Assistant), which keeps the vehicle stationary for up to two seconds after releasing the brakes on uphill.

To ensure that occupants do not forget to fasten their seat belts, the vehicle is equipped with visual and audible alerts for unfastened seat belts for the front seats.

The occupants of the vehicle also have two front airbags, the passenger with the option of deactivation, and two Isofix points in the rear seats for the fastening of child seats.

ACOUSTICS AND SOUND SYSTEM
Passengers inside a new Duster will have an excellent acoustic experience. The vehicle features new absorption and insulation elements, accompanied by thicker front door windows, thus reducing noise and noise internally. Careful development to ensure better isolation of low and high frequency noise.

The Duster also receives an important evolution in audio quality, with less distortion. In the new sound system, with six speakers, the vehicle receives two new tweeters on the dashboard, qualifying the high and medium sounds. Associated with two front boomers, the system guarantees a good performance also in the medium-low spectrum. The Duster also receives two rear bicons at the rear doors, allowing an excellent sound experience for all occupants of the vehicle.

1.6 SCe ENGINE     
In the 1.6 SCe engine, the big news is the Start & Stop technology, added even to the versions equipped with CVT X-Tronic gearbox. Developed by Renault Tecnologia Américas (RTA) and produced at the Ayrton Senna Complex, in Paraná, the engine stands out for its greater performance and driving pleasure. The propeller has dual variable valve timing at the intake, injectors positioned on the head that guarantee high efficiency and good performance from low revs. The engine is flex and with ethanol it reaches a maximum power of 120 hp and the torque is 16.2 kgfm.

Renault takes advantage of the “know-how” acquired on the Formula 1 tracks, a category in which the brand has already won 12 world titles from manufacturers, to ensure the maximum efficiency of its engines. From the tracks came ESM (Energy Smart Management) technology and the oil pump with variable flow, which reduces fuel consumption.

CVT X-TRONIC EXCHANGE  
The CVT X-Tronic gearbox provides maximum comfort, especially for large urban centers. One of its differentials is management software that gives the driver the option to virtually reproduce six gears. The CVT X-Tronic transmission offers, in all versions, the possibility of manually changing the gear lever. The driver is responsible for positioning the handle on the left to take control. The option has a performance advantage, especially in overtaking and sprinting.

CVT X-Tronic accelerations are constant and efficient. The development of this transmission was based on three pillars: linearity, agility and handling. The effect can be seen in speed resumes or traffic lights, for example. For passengers, the feeling is of comfort, without any stride.

Thinking of comfort, there is the Lock-up system with Active Slip Control. In this system, the pulley is released gradually so that the torque is transmitted linearly. This characteristic guarantees accelerations with more vigorous responses and without alternations, as it “holds” the pulley and loosens it gradually so that the torque is transmitted in a linear and fast way.

Zen( R $ 71,790 ) – Black roof bars, electric steering, manual air conditioning, LED signature headlights, front airbags, ABS with AFU, ESP, HSA, three-point seat belt in all positions, two ISOFIX in the rear seat, electric glass in the four doors, Stop & Start, electric lock with automatic closing (CAR), driver’s seat with height adjustment, rear courtesy light, folding split rear seat , perimeter alarm, rear 12V socket, 16 ”steel wheels, 2DIN radio, four speakers and pocket knife. Optional : Easy Link multimedia, fog lights and 16 ”alloy wheels.

ENGINEERING
In the development of the new Duster, more than 1 million hours of engineering and 578 engineers were used for Projeto América (Brazil, Mexico, Colombia and Argentina), with 680 thousand hours and 376 engineers focused on the Brazilian project for 36 months.

For the development of the body structure, the most modern simulation and testing techniques were adopted, with a platform adapted to generate greater comfort, safety and better handling.
For the launch, around 1.75 million kilometers were run during the tests.
