About the Car

2021 Novitec McLaren 765LT

The suffix “LT” stands for “Longtail,” a term that became established as common for racing cars with a longer rear end at the 24 Hours of Le Mans starting in the late sixties. The elongated rear end made the Porsche 917 “longtail” racecars even faster on the nearly six-kilometer Mulsanne straight. In 1997, the McLaren F1 GTR Longtail won the GT1 class at the world’s most famous endurance race. With the McLaren 765LT, the British sports car manufacturer transfers this aerodynamic principle to the road once more. The lightweight two-seater is a perfect basis for the specialty of the German automotive refinement specialist NOVITEC: making the world’s most fascinating sports cars even more powerful, faster and more exciting! The forced-induction four-liter eight-cylinder engine with two turbochargers can be uprated to a maximum of 629 kW / 855 hp and 898 Nm of torque in three different tuning stages. This catapults the gullwing car to 100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds. The top speed is over 330 km/h. NOVITEC high-performance exhaust systems made of ultra-light INCONEL optimize the performance and make the exhaust note even more spectacular. Another focal point of the NOVITEC range is the putting even more sporty emphasis on the appearance: The NOVITEC hi-tech forged wheels with diameters of 20 and 21 inches were developed in cooperation with the American high-end manufacturer Vossen. In addition, custom aerodynamic-enhancement components, which also come in a naked-carbon version, can give the bodywork even more of a racing design.

The refinement specialist’s product range also includes custom interior design in a virtually limitless variety of colors. With its combination of lightweight design and four-liter, twin-turbo V8 high-performance engine, the McLaren 765LT is one of the most dynamic production sports cars on the market. NOVITEC further enhances these talents with professional engine tuning offered in three variants. All three kits are based on a plug & play NOVITEC N-TRONIC auxiliary control unit, which is adapted to the vehicle’s electronic engine controls. The tuning module controls ignition and injection with specially programmed mapping and modifies the electronic boost pressure control.

The most powerful Performance Stage 2, which also includes a fully thermally insulated NOVITEC RACE high-performance exhaust system and ceramic-coated turbo inlet pipes, bumps peak power by 66 kW / 90 hp and boosts peak torque by 98 Nm. This means that the accelerator pedal commands over a massive 629 kW / 855 hp at 7,400 rpm and a peak torque of 898 Nm at 6,300 rpm. In combination with a curb weight of less than 1,350 kilograms, the 675LT tuned by NOVITEC delivers top-class driving performance. The sprint from rest to 100 km/h takes just 2.5 seconds. The 200-km/h mark comes and goes after just 6.5 seconds. The two-seater attains a top speed of over 330 km/h. Be it on the road or on the racetrack: All NOVITEC performance upgrades make an impact with further optimized driving performance, even more agile throttle response and even more powerful in-gear acceleration in all gears.

Whether as part of the engine tuning or in conjunction with the standard powerplant, the NOVITEC high-performance exhaust system made from INCONEL, an alloy also used in Formula 1 racing, is not only even lighter than the standard titanium system, but also optimizes the power delivery. In addition, it is fully thermally insulated, which has a positive effect on the temperature control in the engine compartment. This effect can be further enhanced with 999 fine-gold plating. This precious material can also be staged at the rear with four NOVITEC tailpipes in this specification, optionally in combination with naked carbon. Alternatively, matte black NOVITEC tailpipes are also available. The exhaust system can be completed with 100-cell sports metal catalysts. Thrilling design and lightweight construction are the outstanding qualities of the NOVITEC MC3 forged wheels, which are manufactured for the McLaren 765LT by Vossen using a hi-tech machining process.

Their design with seven delicate double spokes and stylized center lock blends perfectly with the design of the sports car. The variety offered by 72 different colors and the option of choosing brushed or polished surfaces allow tailoring the wheels to the personal taste of each customer. A staggered combination of 20- and 21-inch wheels is fitted on the front and rear axle to emphasize the wedge shape of the mid-engine sports car visually. The front axle uses size 9Jx20 rims with 255/30 ZR 20 high-performance tires. At the rear, size 325/25 ZR 21 tires mounted on 12Jx21 wheels ensure optimal traction and high cornering forces. The NOVITEC sports springs are specifically matched to this wheel/tire combination. They lower the ride height of the McLaren by around 20 millimeters and make the handling even more agile due to the lowered center of gravity.

The NOVITEC designers developed aerodynamic-enhancement components that give the body of the 765LT even sportier looks with some purposeful upgrades. These include the naked-carbon inserts for the headlights as well as the N-LARGO trunk lid and the air scoop on the roof. Both are also available in a naked-carbon version. The naked-carbon inserts for the rocker panels and the air intakes on both sides of the hood, which are made from that same hi-tech compound, cite McLaren’s successful motorsport tradition as well. Of course, the cockpit can also be refined in every detail in line with the wishes of the 765LT owner. The finest leather and Alcantara in any desired color are transformed into the preferred interior with utmost precision.
