The testarossaj was born from the faithful reproduction of the 1957 250 Testa Rossa in just 299 units, one of the most iconic and winning models in the history of Ferrari and motoring to date. Ferrari supervised every aspect of the project, the result of the collaboration with The Little Car Company, a company specializing in the production and marketing of Junior Cars. The Maranello Style Center studied the proportions and liveries, while the design of the frame and other parts was made on the basis of the original drawings kept by Ferrari Classiche. The testa rossa j is not homologated for road use and can be driven from 14 years of age.

Protagonist of the circuits between the 50s and 60s, the 250 Testa Rossa is nothing short of surprising for its palmarès and its longevity. There are 18 victories in its history and three marque championships in 1958, 1960 and 1961. It is also the only Ferrari to have won the 24 Hours of Le Mans four times in 1958, 1960, 1961 and in 1962. its latest evolution 330 TRI / LM. Numbers that place it at the top of the most celebrated Ferrari ever.

Design

The testarossaj scrupulously reproduces the shapes of the 250 Testa Rossa, in the first version of the “pontoon fender” -type barchetta body sculpted by Scaglietti. The attention to detail is unparalleled: the body is in hand-beaten aluminum, the same process followed for the historical models. The paint is also the same that is applied on the range cars, as is the front badge. The original drawings taken from Ferrari Classiche have been scanned and digitally recreated to meticulously recreate the complex chassis of the 250 Testa Rossa.

The same attention to detail is also found in the interior. The Ferrari Style Center has designed a single seat that can accommodate an adult and a young person, reproducing the piping motif of the original seats. The steering wheel, signed by Nardi, also one of the historic suppliers of the 1957 model, was developed with the smallest release system in the world to facilitate the driver’s entry.

Performance and safety

The three batteries of the electric motor are positioned in the front of the car and guarantee a total of approximately 90 km of use. The Manettino allows you to choose between four driving modes, which ensure fun behind the wheel and the highest levels of safety for each driver profile. Novice mode (1 kW / 20 km / h) has been designed to allow young drivers a calm approach to driving the vehicle, with controlled acceleration. The Comfort (4 kW / 45 km / h), Sport and modes are gradually sportier, with instant acceleration and increasing top speeds.

Safety was a priority during the development of the car: in addition to passive systems such as the reinforcement of the side plate and the possibility of inserting a roll-bar connected to the chassis, disc brakes were chosen, different from the original drum brakes but necessary to increase the effectiveness of the braking system.
