Exterior design

The distinctive features of the exterior #design , including the characteristic 5-element front grill and the front and rear bumpers with silver finishes, further accentuate the character and uniqueness of the #SUV .

New IGNIS HYBRID has a style with decisive features, which enhances its personality and underlines the spirit of ultra compact #SUV . The front features a new template with vertical slits which defines a clear family feeling with other models in the range. The shape of the chromed elements takes up the refined luminous signature of the LEDs of the daytime running lights. In the lower part of the front a skid plate debuts which marks a strong link with the off-road world. On its sides the fog lights are placed in a higher position than in the past, slightly recessed and, therefore, better protected in the event of minor impacts.

The setting from #SUV is then emphasized by an increase in the overall height of 1 cm, obtained thanks to an increase in the suspension travel. With careful mass to point, the new structure ensures greater comfort on uneven surfaces and a homogeneous and safe behavior on any terrain.

Interior Desing

New IGNIS HYBRID offers an elegant and accurate interior. The white surfaces that have characterized the lower part of the dashboard of the first generation of IGNIS HYBRID now leave room for the maturity, sportiness and elegance of the black color, as befits an ultra compact #SUV . The frame of the central tunnel and the door handles, in contrast, emphasize the attention to detail confirming IGNIS ‘Japanese character. The inserts are in dark blue or silver, depending on the color chosen for the bodywork.

A new hybrid heart – Motor

The new IGNIS HYBRID also presents important innovations from a technical point of view, which allow the car to overcome the strict Euro 6D homologation limits.

New IGNIS HYBRID adopts a new engine signed K12D; this four-cylinder petrol engine ensures greater readiness for any accelerator stress. Its maximum power is 83 hp, while the peak torque is 107 Nm and is obtained at a speed of only 2,800 rpm. This value testifies to the surprising elasticity of this unit.

Its delivery is made even fuller and brighter by the support provided by the Suzuki HYBRID system. The latter uses the Integrated Starter Generator as its main component, which acts as an alternator, starter motor and electric motor and is ready to provide additional torque when the pilot requires a brilliant starting point at low revs.

The ISG is powered by a new battery pack, with no significant changes in size but with an amperage that goes from 3Ah to 10Ah.

The consequent increase in capacity (given by the amperage in Ah multiplied by the voltage in V) allows the #hybrid system to intervene more effectively in support of the heat engine, reducing consumption and emissions and giving more panache, in cities such as off the asphalt.
