2020 Infiniti QX50 Edition 30
As INFINITI prepares to celebrate its 30th anniversary in November, much has changed in the world and the automotive landscape. At launch in 1989, INFINITI stood out as a brand that does not follow the conventional luxury pack – celebrating its position as a customer-centric alternative with beautiful design, world’s first technologies and breakthrough customer service initiatives at its core.
Entering the 2020 model year, INFINITI continues its commitment to embracing innovation and pushing the limits of what’s possible in product design, innovative technologies and customer care. Looking further ahead into its fourth decade, INFINITI is redefining its product designs, technologies and customer experience for an electrified future.
One of the most notable developments for 2020 is INFINITI’s new-generation infotainment system. The HD twin-screen system, which keeps the name ‘INFINITI InTouch™’, will improve the driving experience and keep motorists better connected while on the road. The platform offers an array of new functionality, including standard Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™; in-vehicle Wi-Fi hotspot with connectivity for seven devices; and improved navigation with 3D maps, Street view imagery and Destinations by Google®. The new system will be available on 2020 Q50, Q60, QX50 and the flagship QX80 models.
More information regarding the celebration of the first 30 years – and the continuing brand and customer journey will be forthcoming. In the meantime, please enjoy this preliminary look at What’s New for the 2020 INFINITI lineup.
Additional information will be available closer to each vehicle’s on-sale date, and, as always, follow www.infinitinews.com for the latest product news and updates.
2020 INFINITI QX50 – Available fall 2019
With an all-new QX50 design introduced for the 2019 model year – including world-first technologies, standout design, an enhanced interior space and an entirely new platform – the QX50 instantly became a strong contender in the luxury mid-size crossover segment, including a 50 percent sales increase in calendar year 2018.
The QX50 also received a 5-star overall rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and was named a 2019 Consumer Guide “Best Buy” in the Premium Compact Crossover category.
For 2020, QX50 enhances its high level of versatility, efficiency and performance with the addition of two new grade levels at the top of the lineup – the QX50 AUTOGRAPH and QX50 SENSORY. Also for 2020, a number of safety, security and driver assistance features become standard on all grade levels, including Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Automatic Braking, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and High Beam Assist. The 2020 QX50 will get the new-generation INFINITI InTouch system™ with HD dual-display 8-inch upper and 7-inch lower touchscreens with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, including Siri® and Google Voice® in addition to several new or revised option packages.
The QX50’s advanced 2.0-liter VC-Turbo engine, a breakthrough in combustion engine design, adjusts its compression ratio to optimize power and efficiency. It combines the power of a high-output 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with the torque and efficiency of a four-cylinder diesel engine. The engine delivers 268 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque, along with fuel economy rated at 27 mpg combined for front-wheel drive and 26 mpg combined for all-wheel drive models.
The 2020 QX50 is now offered in five well-equipped models – QX50 PURE, QX50 LUXE, QX50 ESSENTIAL, QX50 SENSORY and QX50 AUTOGRAPH – each in a choice of front-wheel drive or Intelligent All-Wheel Drive.
