About the Car

2021 Kimera EVO37

Albert Einstein said that “Imagination stimulates progress, giving life to evolution”. It is thanks to imagination, but also to knowledge, dedication and profound respect, that Kimera Automobili has given life to “an Authentic Evolution”. You can find more visual details of the 2021 Kimera Automobili EVO37 gallery by scrolling up.

Kimera EVO37, in fact, draws its origins from the past, to revive an icon of world motoring, bringing it to the maximum possible performance development, as if the car of the time had been conceived today, with the knowledge and technologies of our days.

The result of this chrono-cultural fusion is an authentic road “custom-built” that is inspired by the ancient Italian sporting glory, created with a contemporary design and construction process, with excellent methodologies typical of the automotive industry and the best of offered by modern technology in the motor industry: 3D scanning, reverse engineering, CAD, CAE, rapid prototyping, CNC milling, sintering, electronics and the ultimate in available technological solutions.

2021 Kimera Automobili EVO37

A car that, inspired by the Restomod philosophy, takes this concept to the extreme by combining the style, flavor and charm of one of the most legendary racing “queens” of the 80s, with the characteristics of a modern car in terms of technology, quality and performance.
A tribute that pays homage to those legendary cars of the 80s that were the protagonists of the World Rally Championships, including the last Group B 2-wheel drive to win the world title, beating all-wheel drive rivals. An icon that has made school and has become a cult model for motoring enthusiasts.

The project was conceived with deep respect for the past, immediately involving the work group that at the time gave life to the cars that inspired the EVO37.

Franco “Inox” Innocenti, has transmitted to Kimera Automobili the imprinting of the methodical workshop work, Eng. Claudio Lombardi has therefore completely revised the engine, Eng. Sergio Limone has viewed and approved the layout of the chassis and of the new car, which according to his advice has not been distorted, while Eng. Vittorio Roberti you considered the construction process and the materials of the car correct. In addition, the World Champion Miki Biasion was also involved.

They were joined by other prominent names in the Italian motoring scene and a real technical team was created with the best companies in the Turin hinterland, specialized in the production of cars.

Historic companies that are part of that Piedmontese automotive supply chain, which still has a lot to say and give!

Names well known to professionals: Italtecnica, Bonetto CV, Maps, LAM Stile, Bellasi, CiElle Tronics, Sparco. To which are added those of other Italian excellences: Goodwool, Pakelo, Andreani – Ohlins, Brembo and Pirelli. Companies that represent a technical and cultural heritage, which deserves a great appreciation in this particular moment of the automotive industry

Italian.

The starting point of the EVO37, as at the time for the original car, is the central cell of the chassis of the production Lancia Beta Montecarlo, to which two tubular structures are anchored, on the front and on the rear. Bonetto Cv defined the car set-up and vehicle dynamics on this frame structure. In this “evolution” the tubular structure is self-supporting, as in the Delta S4, in which the airframe is only the “shell” of the passenger compartment frame / roll-bar.

2021 Kimera Automobili EVO37 Top Front View

2021 Kimera Automobili EVO37

The car has “oversized” Pirelli tires, both in the radius and in the size of the tread, 18 “for the front and 19” in the rear with a lowered shoulder. The suspensions have been completely redesigned, even if they maintain the same layout of the time but evolved, and use components machined from solid and Öhlins adjustable shock absorbers. The braking system is Brembo branded and traditional or carbon ceramic braking bands are available.

With a long, rigorous and detailed design and engineering activity, Kimera Automobili creates a completely new custom-built model, with precious materials and state-of-the-art components.

The result is a final product that represents the maximum expression of all the characteristics inherent in the DNA of the car, exponentially optimized and embellished by modern technology: carbon, kevlar, titanium, steel and aluminum machined from solid, find their synthesis in a racing car. over 500 hp and 550 Nm of torque!

The engine that Kimera Automobili mounted on EVO37 has the same in-line four-cylinder block of the time, but has been redesigned, re-engineered from scratch and built by Italtecnica, under the brilliant leadership of Eng. Claudio Lombardi, already the father of all the engines of the legendary berlinettas of the Martini Racing team.

Kimera Automobili has therefore ennobled, through modern technological processes all the mechanical components that have decreed the many successes of the team in the world rally championships, thanks to a process of scans, reprogramming, revisiting and creation of new mathematics and designs that made the construction of the EVO37.

The car’s design was conceived by Luca Betti and revisited, optimized and developed, while remaining strongly faithful to the primordial line, by a team of stylists.

The search for styles and details that characterize the EVO37 line is intended to be a tribute and a celebration of the Italian models that have won in the rallies of the 80s-90s.

The skilful interventions made, in fact, want to underline and modernize the muscular lines of the hips, the typical front with four headlights, the rally-inspired rims and as many distinctive features as possible that recall both the character of the “last queen”, both that of the sisters who have followed her over time, from which she takes inspiration.

Everything is “mixed” with wisdom and taste, to create a real four-wheeled “sculpture” that is harmonious, balanced, gritty and elegant.

Kimera EVO37 summarizes and synthesizes totally Italian know-how, taste and expertise, especially from Turin, which have produced the four-wheeled models that have entered the Olympus of motorsport and automotive.

The potential of competences that the “automotive-valley” of Turin can offer to the country of Italy, must only be grasped, to return to being protagonists in a sector where Italy has always excelled, namely that of design, research, planning , prototyping and production of road and racing sports cars, high-performance and innovative custom-built cars.

This can also happen with niche projects with a very high technological content, because the “renaissance” of the car pole of the third millennium now passes, also and above all, from these exclusive intuitions.

A technological pole of the car, symbol of Italian capacity, dynamism and inventiveness already exists; it only needs to be supported, in order to be able to face the many challenges that globalization has also generated in this industrial sector, together with those linked to the use of new propulsion systems.
